"How could this drug be sanctioned by the FDA in the first place?"
I truly believe this med should be banned.
I had one panic attack in Sept of 2002 and was put on Effexor XR.
The longer I was on it and the fact that the dosage was increased, presented me with a myriad of side effects. At the present time I have this buzzing in my head which turns to swishing jolts when it's time to take another pill. I have been asked to be weaned off this med and that's another story from hell. Withdrawal symptoms are horrific! How could this drug be sanctioned by the FDA in the first place? There is a petition on the Internet with almost 4000 signatures attached to it regarding the adverse effects people have suffered from it.
Now I see that it is banned for children under the age of 18. How do our bodies differ from theirs?
I have never been so miserable in all my life. It's supposed to be a tranquilizer but it has been anything but.
That's my say for what it's worth. I have spread the word and found that many, many right here in my circle have the same feelings toward Effexor as I have.
