Hopeless on Prozac

Antidepressants

“Prozac sent my emotions to an extreme lower depth that I could think of nothing but making the feelings stop.”

I am bipolar with a tendency toward panic disorder. I was prescribed Prozac in 1996 and during that year I attempted suicide 5 times by drug over-dose. Prozac sent my emotions to an extreme lower depth that I could think of nothing but making the feelings stop. I have never felt such hopelessness before taking Prozac, nor since I stopped taking it toward the end of 1996.

I have tried other antidepressants similar to Prozac since that time and recognized the warning signs of the same kind of reaction and immediately stopped the new drugs. Now I see that many of them are listed in Dr. Ann Blake Tracy's books.

I feel that doctors should know that if you have negative reactions to a drug then the chances are you will have similar reactions to other drugs in the same family. Thank you for your time.
