Troubled individuals with emotional breakage due to suffering serious
adverse reactions from antidepressants/atypical anti-psychotics often can’t
feel love, safety or confidence, nor do they truly experience meaningful relationships
with others. Instead of feeling loved and accepted, they often feel empty and
alone, causing them to continue their current behaviors, prolonging the cycle.
In order to stop the feelings of emptiness and worthlessness, some will turn
to additional prescription drugs, addictive forms of activities or suicide attempts
to make the feelings go away. None of these can fill the void and will only
act to destroy them even further. During the addiction they cannot typically
see or feel the consequences of their actions but know they want it to stop.
However, they often do not ask for help because of the shame they feel and thinking
they should be able to stop on their own.

The shadow of depression, anxiety, addiction and substance abuse is dark and
threatening. Helen Keller said, “Keep your face in the sunshine and you
cannot see the shadow.”

Healing comes from loving ones self and accepting and resolving issues physically,
emotionally, spiritually and mentally. Your unique life journey of new found
balance can be found without dependence, but with independence and opening avenues
of productivity and creativity.

Our Retreat nurtures total honesty in core processing groups. The camaraderie
and support that we give to each other when together forms the drum beat and
pulse of progressive recovery. It allows for less distraction and less emphasis
on the problems in the outside world. The atmosphere is more conducive for rebuilding
self esteem and confidence and service to mankind.

Our Holistic Therapies address the mind-body split, helping our clients to integrate,
improve energy flow, explore deeper levels of peace within themselves and connectivity
with their environment.

We believe the complete health of the mind, body and spirit are essential to
recovery. We believe that they will mend more fully in a treatment environment
that meets their total physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We focus
rigorous attention on the entire person, not just the superficial behaviors
or routines.

Proper nutrition geared toward a healthy body and unique nutritional needs is
essential to successful recovery and sustained recovery. Balanced & optimal
nutrition can help provide the body with the energy and fuel that is necessary
during the entire process.

The Kito Foundation Center is intended as a center for holistic healing.
Here clients begin a healing process that builds on an intense sense of community,
with mutuality and compassion as vital elements of therapeutic enlightenment.
Health – mind, body and spirit are essential to recovery. Without any one, the
other two will not be strong enough to achieve and sustain continuing recovery.

Here at the Kito Foundation Center, we provide an atmosphere of tranquility
while we take you on a journey of discovery, health recovery, education, and
self-exploration. We are a body, mind, soul focused retreat and education center,
acknowledging, respecting and nurturing all aspects of one’s being. This retreat
is designed to help us get present in our bodies. Focusing on being present
allows us to listen to the sweet voice of truth that lives in the heart. These
practices can assist and support in the healing and therapy of any individual,
regardless of the particular diagnosis or life challenges. These practices help
to activate and grow the natural Essence that is already inherent within us
and is part of our natural birthright. Human and soulful qualities such as love
and compassion, peace and contentment, intention and will, strength and courage,
joy and bliss are nourished and enhanced by living these practices. As these
qualities grow, professional clinicians and educators can become powerful agents
of transformation. Your very presence becomes healing and a balm for the soul.

At the Kito Foundation Eco Retreat we believe that well-being often
requires taking time away from daily stresses to learn new ways of being to
return to every day life with tools for a healthier lifestyle. This is
a place for you to focus on a healthy mind, body and soul, a place to enhance
your healthy lifestyle and a place for you to rediscover your own Essence.

Explore how to heal through immersion in soulful expression and a revitalized
circulation of creative energy in our lives. Learn how to transform inner conflict
and pain as sources of creative power. You will discover how to relax self-judgment
and make contact with your authentic expression and the beauty that is unique
to what you make.

The environment is rich with opportunities to grow spiritually and emotionally,
while reclaiming physical health in a holistic and nurturing way. We realize
that the setting is as important to becoming healthy and whole as every other
element we include in our program, and believe with all our hearts that anyone
who comes to the Kito Foundation Eco Retreat will find the experience
they need, and enjoy long term, and even life-long benefits.

ABOUT US

KITO’S HOLISTIC WELLNESS & ESSENCE ECO RETREAT was founded by
Dr. Ann Blake Tracy, Executive Director of the International Coalition for Drug
Awareness (www.drugawareness.org). Dr. Tracy began her quest to educate about
these drugs in 1989 only two years after the first SSRI antidepressant was introduced.
Her book about this Prozac family of antidepressants has come to be known as
the “Bible” for information on antidepressant medications – containing
everything anyone would ever want to know about these drugs. Since 1992 Dr.
Tracy has been testifying as an expert witness in court cases involving these
serotonergic drugs. Some of the more high profile cases she has been a
part of would be comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn’s murder/suicide case,
Columbine, Red Lake and many other school shooting incidents, Andrea Yates,
Mark Barton (the Atlanta Day Trader), Mathew Beck, the Connecticut Lottery
shooter, etc., etc.

Being more connected to your Self, the universal intelligence, life, Mother
Nature, humanity, your family and friends can be the outcome. A greater sense
of ‘meaningfulness’ can be the outcome. A greater sense of confidence
and knowing clearly who you are can be the outcome. A greater sense of appreciation,
humility, compassion and gratefulness can be the outcome. And finally, a full
life filled with blissful meaning and joy can be the ultimate outcome. After
all, joy is really love and perhaps the meaning of life is just that simple.
So get started and get re-connected! Ask and you shall receive!

I accidentally filled out the e-mail form, but my purpose was to leave a reply. I think that what you are doing is seriously what this country needs right now. We need to quit waiting until we are dying for the government to take care of us. The U.S. spends nearly $2 trillion on health care to treat illness, not prevent it. We need to nourish our bodies and minds with what nature gave us to begin with. The human body has a tremendous capability to heal itself when given what it wants, and needs. Supplementation is pretty much the only alternative anymore. Even what we purchase at the local grocery stores is depleted of natural occuring nutrients, minerals, vitamins etc. due to over farming causing depletion of these components in our soils. Even the most sophisticated science cannot supply the innumerable phyto compounds that are found in whole foods. Phytonutrition adds immeasurable value to specific nutrients. When you eat an orange, you get vitamin C, as well as an entire source of supportive, naturally associated compounds. Included in this matrix is bioflavonoids. Even after 80 years after the discovery of vitamin C, scientists are still trying to figure out these bioflavonoids. Even if you take mega doses of vitamin C, or any other vitamin for that matter, your body still craves the naturally associated factors more than a high dose of an isolated nutrient, which is pretty much all you get out of a local pharmacy.
