Ann Blake-Tracy

Executive Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness (www.drugawareness.org)
Author: Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare

Withdrawal CD: Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!

Ann has specialized since 1990 in adverse reactions to serotonergic medications (such as Prozac, Sarafem, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor, Cymbalta, Pristiq, Serzone, Remeron, Anafranil, Fen-Phen, Redux and Meridia as well as the new atypical antipsychotics Zyprexa, Geodon, Seroquel, Risperdal, and Abilify), as well as pain killers, and has testified before the FDA and congressional subcommittee members on antidepressants. Last May she testified, along with other experts, before the Danish Parliament on the brain damage produced by antidepressants.

Since 1992 she has testified as an expert witness in Prozac and other SSRI related court cases around the world. Some of the more high profile cases she has worked on would be the murder/suicide of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn, the Columbine & Red Lake School shootings,
Andrea Yates – the Texas mother who drowned her five children, the Atlanta Day Trader, Princess Di’s death, the murder/suicide of the royal family of Nepal, Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel’s death, etc.

Ann Blake-Tracy will amaze you with documentation as to how often these drugs have lurked silently behind the scenes of major headlines worldwide!! To get an idea of how often and the types of reactions we are seeing in the news go to www.drugawareness.org for breaking news cases and www.ssristories.net www.ssristories.drugawareness.org for our database of 1000’s of articles on patients on these drugs and the adverse results appearing as headlines which Ann Blake Tracy and our Texas director, Rosie Meysenburg have been gathering since the introduction of the first SSRI antidepressant, Prozac. With only two individuals gathering the cases it makes it clear that this shocking list is only the tip of this iceberg!

Her first book on the issue was published in 1991. What scientists are just now learning about these drugs she spelled out in this book and other early writings. She has participated in innumerable radio, television, newspaper and magazine interviews since 1989.

We know of no one with such extensive experience and expertise on all of these issues surrounding the SSRI antidepressants as Ann Blake-Tracy. She knows this issue like no one you have ever met! Her latest book on the Prozac family of antidepressants: “PROZAC: PANACEA OR PANDORA? – Our Serotonin Nightmare” (2001) is the product of many, many years of intensive research, and the cases of approximately 1,000 patients on a long-term basis.

Ann Blake Tracy also has an hour and a half long audio tape and/or CD, “Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!,” which explains the safest withdrawal methods from these antidepressants discovered via trial & error over the past two decades and how to rebuild the body and brain after the use of these drugs – the product of many years working with patients in withdrawal from antidepressants and patients with serious adverse reactions to antidepressants.

Ann Blake Tracy has appeared on or consulted for television presentations for FOX News, Court TV, the History Channel, CNN, PBS programs, Dateline and 20/20, the Geraldo Show, the Leeza Gibbons Show, the Montel Williams Show, the Maury Povich Show and numerous local news programs. She has also appeared on many national radio shows over the past 20 years such as NPR, Coast to Coast, the Jeff Rense Show, and the Alex Jones Show. Internationally she has appeared in the US, Canada, Finland, UK, Russia. Ireland, and is currently working on one in Germany and another in Australia.

Ann has also appeared in two major film documentaries released the end of 2005, The Drugging of Our Children, by award-winning documentary filmmaker Gary Null, which contains interviews with Michael Moore and Neil Bush agreeing on the subject of the horrors of giving our children drugs; (This movie is available in its entirety in the link below) and the movie Prescription Suicide, a look into the lives of families who experienced firsthand the tragedy of antidepressants, produced by five-time Emmy Award winning Hollywood producer Robert Manciero. And she has just done an interview for the sequel to American Addict, which is currently the number one movie on Netflix.

Media With Mental Health to Work Together for Suicide Prevention???

suicide stats

Public health burden of suicidal behavior among adults

aged =18 years — United States, 2008

The Deseret News in Salt Lake City just ran an article titled, “Media, mental health professionals discuss working together on suicide prevention?” Really? And how many are going to fall for that? The link to this original article is below and here is my comment on that article:

“Without question suicide is a huge problem plaguing our society. But in searching the cause few see the obvious as the cause, even when admitted, due to the huge amount of revenue associated with it. That is the drugs prescribed to those who are depressed – antidepressants which carry warnings of suicidal ideation. A decade ago antidepressants were given an FDA Black Box Warning (the next step from a complete ban).

“Now we should feel better knowing that media, who receive massive amounts of advertising dollars to promote these drugs, and groups like NAMI, who was shown by a Senate Probe led by Senator Charles Grassley to be 75% funded by Pharma, are looking for answers? Also just days ago JAMA published a study showing 40% of teaching hospitals, like UNI, have drug company ties.

http://jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1853147

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/22919-leaders-of-teaching-hospitals-have-close-ties-to-drug-companies-study-shows

“Propublica in their Dollars for Docs program is working to stop these vested interests. Until it is no longer financially advantageous to those searching I would not expect real answers to suicide prevention. The answer will continue to be “Take your drugs and don’t worry about the suicidal ideation warning. It will not affect you, only others.”

I should have finished with this line, “It will not affect you, only others, because as soon as you go manic on your antidepressant you will become invincable.”

OBAMACARE: CAN YOU NAME THIS OLD PHYSICIAN’S TOOL?

Tobacco enema

A friend just shared this picture along with the following explanation which seems so appropriate in light of the recent news which for some strange reason is making headline news as a great success story. Instead you would think they would be embarrassed about anyone knowing the results. That is the news indicating as the deadline for Obamacare reached its end yesterday the media reported as a “great success” that 7 million out of 314 million Americans (a whopping total of 2.2%) signed up for Obamacare!

Even if you figure in children to the equation the rate seems extremely low to me. It gives me hope that the 97.8% who did not sign up will have a greater rate of survival since there will not be a free ticket to drug them with anything (especially an antidepressant which seems to be the cure for anything that ails you) the doctor feels like prescribing.

I guess I am just having trouble figuring out how having 2.2% of the population sign up is being considered a success. Anyone want to explain that to me? In the meantime you will find the following very interesting and humorous……

CAN YOU NAME THIS OLD PHYSICIAN’S TOOL?

THOUGHT YOU WOULD ENJOY THIS EDUCATIONAL MOMENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY. GIVE IT A GUESS, THEN LOOK BELOW FOR THE ANSWER. HINT: USED BY A PHYSICIAN…

HINT: ITS A KIT… TOBACCO SMOKE ENEMAS (1750S-1810S). THE TOBACCO
ENEMA WAS USED TO INFUSE TOBACCO SMOKE INTO A PATIENTS RECTUM FOR
VARIOUS MEDICAL PURPOSES, PRIMARILY THE RESUSCITATION OF DROWNING VICTIMS.

A RECTAL TUBE INSERTED INTO THE ANUS WAS CONNECTED TO A FUMIGATOR AND
BELLOWS THAT FORCED THE SMOKE TOWARDS THE RECTUM. THE WARMTH OF THE SMOKE WAS THOUGHT TO PROMOTE RESPIRATION, BUT DOUBTS ABOUT THE CREDIBILITY OF TOBACCO ENEMAS LED TO THE POPULAR PHRASE “BLOWING SMOKE UP YOUR ASS”.

IT HAS BEEN REINTRODUCED IN WASHINGTON , BY THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE NEW HEALTH CARE PROGRAM, OBAMACARE.

Breathing Rosemary Oil Enhances Memory, Fights Alzheimer’s

Rosemary

Rosemary Boosts Memory

Old Superstitions Were on to Something
When It Comes to This Memory Herb

Antidepressant medications have extreme adverse effects upon memory. So adverse are those effects upon memory that amnesia was listed as a frequent side effect to the first SSRI antidepressant Prozac and should follow for all subsequent SSRI and SNRI antidepressants released since then. Memory loss is one of the most common long term effects of antidepressants making this information on Rosemary oil just out so important to those taking or who have taken antidepressants.

Ancient Greek scholars wore this herb around their heads to help them remember their studies. The ancient Egyptians put it in tombs and early Europeans threw it into graves to help them remember the dead.

It’s been given to wedding guests to remember the occasion and also to the happy couple to remind them of their sacred vows. It’s been placed under pillows to enhance recall during sleep.

All these old superstitions are fun, but does the herb have any real memory-boosting power? Surprisingly, yes!

Rosemary is proving to have real merit in preserving and enhancing memory and cognition.

15% Improvement in Long-Term Memory

The first tests on this herb for memory were published in 2003. Researchers studied 132 volunteers for the effects of rosemary in the form of an essential oil (a very strong concentrate extracted from the whole herb). Those exposed to the aroma had a 15% improvement in long-term memory.

This can occur because molecules in the oils are extremely small and can be absorbed into the bloodstream through the olfactory nerve in the nose and via the lungs. They can also cross the blood-brain barrier to have direct effects on the brain.

NPR Radio Show on Oils

I did a radio show on National Public Radio with Kathy Farmer, who is now an expert on the oils and teaches doctors about the oils after using these oils to help her daughter come off Zoloft. This was done right after we got the 2005 warning from the FDA on increased suicide in children using antidepressants. But Kathy does a wonderful job of explaining the science behind how the oils work upon the brain and can help after the use of antidepressants.

You can find that NPR program by going down to section #1 on our website at http://www.drugawareness.org/alternatives/ and then click on the NPR logo which looks like this:

nprlogo

Dr. Mark Moss, lead researcher from the University of Northumbria in the UK, commented: “What is interesting is the possibility of using rosemary over a long period to maintain cognitive performance. It could be that a bit more rosemary with lunch maintains a healthy mind throughout life.”

A later study by Dr. Moss tested volunteers’ ability to do mental arithmetic. Those subjected to the aroma of rosemary saw enhanced aspects of cognition, with greater speed and accuracy. Performance outcomes improved for each task tested.

The most recent Moss study tested prospective memory – remembering events that are expected to occur in the near future and remembering to complete tasks at a certain time. Those exposed to the essential oil performed at a 60 – 75% higher level compared to those not exposed. They were better able to remember events, complete tasks and had greater speed of recall.

More Effective Than Dementia Drugs

Rosemary is able to improve brain function by several mechanisms. It contains a chemical important for memory called 1,8-cineole. Blood levels of this substance rise when a person is exposed to the rosemary scent. 1,8-cineole also has the ability to inhibit acetyl-cholinesterase, an enzyme that reduces brain function. It is among the key enzymes that promote Alzheimer’s disease. Most dementia drugs target this enzyme.

Not only does rosemary contain 1,8-cineole, it also contains rosmarinic acid and ursolic acid. These compounds are also able to inhibit acetylcholinesterase. So altogether, rosemary boasts three factors that work to reduce a dangerous mind-destroying enzyme.

Rosemary also contains carnosic acid, a natural chemical that protects against the ravaging effects of free radicals in the brain that contribute to neurodegeneration.

Dr. Takumi Satoh of Iwate University offered this thought about carnosic acid: “It means that we can do even better in protecting the brain from terrible disorders such as Alzheimer’s, perhaps even slowing down the effects of normal aging.”

Makes You Feel Good Too

Experiments with human volunteers suggest another benefit I find very attractive: The aroma of rosemary elevates a person’s mood. People reported feeling fresher and more active, with greater alertness and less drowsiness. Those who had a massage with rosemary oil said they felt more vigorous and cheerful.

Let me make it clear that the only oil I recommend using is Young Living because there are too many oil companies that extract their oils by using chemicals. I would NEVER recommend using oils processed like that for inhalation. Inhaling something is a direct hit to the brain and you want to make sure what you are inhaling is in its purist form. Young Living Oils are processed via low temperatures (which preserves the enzymes in the oils) steam distillation giving you the purist form you can find to use. If you would like to try it for yourself you can order a bottle by clicking the link below:

ANTIDEPRESSANTS???? Autism Increases by 30% Nationwide in Two Years

Autism

US: Autism Increases 30% in Only Two Years

Autism has long been known to be a condition of elevated serotonin and the exact method of action of an antidepressant is to increase serotonin levels. Many other things cause a serotonin increase: sugar, dairy, Jello, Aspartame – all Utah favorites, but Utah has also long led the way in use  the of antidepressant medications. Is it any wonder then that figures for Autism in Utah were four times the national average in 2008?!

With such high rates of Autism in Utah one needs to consider that Utah also has one of the highest rates of child bearing women taking antidepressants yet in this UT news article there was no mention at all of this antidepressant use by mothers with subsequent Autism in the offspring connection. This is in spite of the fact that lawsuits are already being filed regularly for antidepressant-induced Autism in offspring. (Of course when the individual being interviewed is a psychiatrist, who would be regularly prescribing these medications, chances are not high that she would volunteer such potentially incriminating information.)

Resent research shows that a woman who is taking antidepressants during her pregnancy has a four times greater chance of having a child who suffers Autism as a birth defect due to exposure to the drugs in the womb! And in 2008 Utah’s rate of Autism was found to be four times higher than the national average. Seems like a fairly simple math problem, doesn’t it?

They also have found that if the mother has taken an antidepressant within 12 months of getting pregnant that child has double the chance of being born autistic.

Those are incredibly high numbers that should not be ignored when so many
young women are being given antidepressants and are not warned of this possible
birth defect of Autism.

Even more ironic, or perhaps insane is the better word, in diagnosing children at an earlier age so “treatment” may be started sooner we need to consider that 63% of the children being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder are being drugged with antidepressants that increase serotonin! But in making the condition worse that would keep the $$$$ coming in longer wouldn’t it? Perhaps it is long past time to understand that “health care” in this country has far less to do with “care” and far more to do with making a profit.

I am certainly not saying that antidepressants are the only cause of Autism as you can see I listed many other things that contribute to it. What does concern me is that something known to increase the rate of Autism by 400% seems to be almost completely ignored in the media of the state where the largest majority of child bearing women on these drugs live.

In the search for causes of Autism the information from Dr. Cade’s research on dairy is critical. He was able to rid 80% of Autistic and Schizophrenic children of their symptoms by eliminating dairy from their diet. Amazing results considering it also helped with something as problematic as Schizophrenia! But it is important to know that if one cannot metabolize casein (milk protein) it will act in the brain as a Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor as it turns into caso morphine. So it will also result in the increased levels of serotonin – the same end result as an antidepressant would produce. (See original articles below)

Drugawareness.org YouTube Channel – Teens on SSRIs

Jamie Tierney

It seems few of you are aware that the International Coalition for Drug Awareness has its own YouTube Channel with lots of information there. Once you subscribe to the Drugawareness Channel you will automatically be notified as we send out new videos – something we are gearing up to do a lot of in the near future as we comb through all of my older videos and recordings.

Find one video below as an example of some of the videos you will find there.

Sign up for the YouTube Drugawareness.org Channel here:

And here is a direct link to the videos on our YouTube channel: http://www.drugawareness.org/videos/

The following example is a news piece that covers the experience of two teens, Christopher Pitman & Jamie Tierney. At age 12 Chris was prescribed Paxil and then Zoloft and after only a few months killed the two people he loved the most, his grandparents, and then proceeded to burn the house down with their bodies still inside. Jamie at 15 became suicidal and full of rage after being given Effexor for migraine headaches.

You can see that news piece here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlLiAfiueo4&list=UUo-6uMPDOtwaPe1ec3Rhr3A

In posting the new information over the next few months I would hope it would give you a good picture of how much information has been out there for how long and what all has been accomplished at this point. If you are wondering why these antidepressants are still on the market from what you are seeing and learning currently, just wait until you see all that has already transpired and the information that has been out on the drugs for years now.

I have long said that those beginning to see this situation with these drugs need desperately to learn the history behind what has already transpired. We will also be including some very long, in depth, radio interviews on these drugs that will teach you things you have not yet heard anywhere else even though they are over a decade old. I encourage you to listen and learn and share with others so that they can see this antidepressant fiasco for what it really is.

Study: Tumeric More Effective in Treating Depression Than Prozac, Etc.

tumeric

Study: Turmeric more Effective than Prozac at Treating Depression

For those who may have missed this…from the article below we read:

A recent study published in Phytotherapy Research says that not only is turmeric effective at treating depression, it may even be more effective than some of the most common anti-depressant drugs currently on the market.

Antidepressants Do NOT Work!

First of all let me point out that the statement quoted above is not completely correct because antidepressants are NOT effective in treating depression contrary to what you hear every evening in television ads. The drugs may give an initial feeling of making a patient think they are feeling better because they work like an anesthetic. When you are feeling nothing of course the feelings of depression, anxiety, etc. stop but you can also lose all the good feelings as well. In fact many patients come off these drugs because they can no longer feel. So, when you consider that information combined with the following facts:

– serotonin has long been known to be ELEVATED rather than low in depression

– serotonin metabolism is what is low in depression and antidepressants inhibit the metabolism of serotonin thus worsening depression

– studies demonstrate the worsening of depression and anxiety after using an antidepressant long term

– the fact that those with anxiety have been found to have serotonin levels EIGHT TIMES HIGHER than normal so clearly elevating those levels with an antidepressant is NOT a good thing

– depression and stress can be detected medically via elevated levels of cortisol, yet one single 30mg dose of Prozac was shown in an early study done by the manufacturer themselves to clearly DOUBLE the level of cortisol!

– the only apparent “beneficial” effects from antidepressants seems to be the stimulant effect they provide as they test out in the blood as amphetamine which explains why patients so often end up with a Bipolar or manic reaction to these drugs

(for supporting scientific research on these statements refer to my book Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare at www.drugawareness.org)

… (so with all of that is taken into consideration) it would appear that this study would demonstrate that tumeric is far more superior in treating depression than any antidepressant ever approved by the FDA.

With this information in mind I invite you to read the information below on the results of this study on tumeric.

But before deciding to make any changes in dose of an antidepressant please see the warnings below and links to withdrawal helps because any abrupt change in dose can cause deadly results if you and/or your doctor do not know what you are doing!!!

One original article with additional links to other info below this:

Study: Turmeric more Effective than Prozac at Treating Depression

by Elizabeth Renter
July 24th, 2013

It’s common knowledge in the natural health world that pharmaceuticals often (if not always) do more harm than good. It’s also clear that foods, herbs, and other natural sources can offer similar benefits without those nasty side effects. Once again, our beliefs have been affirmed by science: A recent study published in Phytotherapy Research says that not only is turmeric effective at treating depression, it may even be more effective than some of the most common anti-depressant drugs currently on the market.

While previous studies have indicated the effectiveness of turmeric (curcumin) in treating serious depression, this study was the first randomized controlled clinical trial of its kind.

Researchers with the Department of Pharmacology of Government Medical College in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India compared the effects of turmeric and Prozac (fluoxetine), both used together and individually, in 60 patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).

According to GreenMedInfo.com, the researchers used the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale to measure their results:

“We observed that curcumin was well tolerated by all the patients. The proportion of responders as measured by the HAM-D17 scale was higher in the combination group (77.8%) than in fluoxetine [Prozac] (64.7%) and the curcumin (62.5%) groups; however, these data were not statistically significant (P?=?0.58). Interestingly, the mean change in HAM-D17 score at the end of six weeks was comparable in all three groups (P?=?0.77). This study provides first clinical evidence that curcumin may be used as an effective and safe modality for treatment in patients with MDD without concurrent suicidal ideation or other psychotic disorders.”

While reading the researchers conclusions indicates one treatment (turmeric) is equally effective as Prozac, it doesn’t account for the negative effects of Prozac, which boost turmeric’s value considerably. Prozac is known to cause “suicidal ideation or other psychotic disorders,” frightening side effects that are clearly absent in turmeric use.

In addition to fighting depression, the bright yellow root commonly used in Indian cooking known as turmeric has been found to have numerous health benefits. In addition to this enlightening research on its efficacy in depression treatment, we know it also has value in the treatment of inflammatory conditions, diabetes, and even cancer. If that isn’t enough, it’s also been shown effective in aiding in weight loss and cutting heart disease risk. Plus, it tastes amazing.

Anti-depressant medications are some of the biggest of Big Pharma’s many big money-makers. Equipped with knowledge like the findings of this most recent study, consumers have the potential to undermine their goal of drugging America and the world.

UT NAMI Calls for Full Medicaid Expansion

NAMINATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI)

Yesterday a rally was held on Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City to promote a bill that would bring in federal funding to medicate even more people in Utah through Medicaid!!! SALT LAKE CITY — The Capitol rotunda echoed Thursday with voices touting the importance of treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders. And joining in the chorus were cries for full Medicaid expansion.

Among those was my old friend from talk radio days, now Senator Jim Dabakis, pointing out that the Fed is offering almost half a billion dollars to medicate more in Utah!!! Jim should know better but even he was shouting to take the money.

“Washington has a check for $430 million made out to the state of Utah,” Sen. Jim Dabakis, D-Salt Lake City, said to an excited and thunderous crowd.

“Speaker Lockhart, take the money,” Dabakis shouted. “It’s simple. We need that money. We don’t need ideological points. We don’t need political points. Our families, 120,000 of them, are desperate for that money. This is not the time to play political games. Take the money.”

My posted comment on this in Utah media is: “Oh my gosh! Utah has still not woken up to this Pharmacuetical lobbyist group that calls themselves National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)?!

“Senator Charles Grassley led the probe into NAMI about six or seven years ago which found at least 75% of NAMI’s funding comes directly from drug companies. So embarrassed by this revelation was the national head of NAMI that he stepped down from his position. If Medicaid Expansion is approved who benefits? The drug companies and NAMI do!

“But what about patients? Reading the book “Mad in America” would answer that or reading a package insert for these “medications” will demonstrate they increase mental illness rather than cure it, thus making an even larger market for Pharma. For instance Postpartum psychosis normally occurs in one of 1000 yet take an antidepressant for postpartum depression and the chance of psychosis is increased 1000% to one of 100 (find 1% psychosis in the antidepressant package insert) Or stop the antidepressant rapidly and the FDA warns you can produce psychosis.

“So, simply have the government expand funding for medications which produce psychosis and sell more anti-psychotic medications – simple math? Welcome to marketing in America!”

As I did a quick search for NAMI just through one newspaper there to see if anything was ever printed about Senator Grassley’s probe of NAMI’s funding I was shocked to pull up on just the first page three obituaries calling for donations to be made to NAMI!!! And why is that shocking? It is shocking because I have little doubt that all three of these people died from the so called “treatments” that NAMI is promoting – the same “treatment” these people are rallying to bring more money to fund while WE foot the bill, thus making us a party to those deaths!

The most horrific of those three deaths I know was produced by these drugs. That was gruesome murder of Joyce Dexter, 84, the grandmother of 21 year old Zachary Weston who under the influence of Zoloft and Zyprexa stabbed his grandmother 111 times, even slicing her abdomen open,  just over a year ago. http://www.drugawareness.org/zoloft-zyprexa-grandson-stabs-grandmother-111-times/ Two years before the attack Zach was court ordered “to undergo a mental health evaluation and complete any recommended treatment” after shoving his mother in an argument.

This is the type of “treatment” this money NAMI is rallying Utah law makers for currently will fund. So now the question is: “Just how many more grandmothers will suffer a similar fate as Utah accepts this absolutely staggering amount  of money?” And if you think Utah is the only state or the US the only country, in which pharmaceutical front groups like NAMI are accomplishing the same type of funding for Pharma, you need to think again!!!

If you read my 2004 report before the FDA Advisory Committee on antidepressants http://www.drugawareness.org/fda-testimony/dr-ann-blake-tracys-september-13-2004-to-the-fda you will see that the neurotransmitter, serotonin, which is increased by antidepressants is almost identical chemically to the hallucinogenics LSD or PCP.  Serotonin mimics LSD or PCP. Elevated serotonin is what is found in psychosis, schizophrenia, mania (Bipolar), suicide, depression, anxiety, Autism, anorexia, drug and alcohol abuse, violent crime, impulsive acts with no concern for punishment, argumentative behavior, rage, pedophilia, etc.  Antidepressants are designed to gradually increase serotonin levels over time and because it  is a gradual process it gives the appearance that the patient is going insane rather than the fact it should be an expected result of the drug itself! Making the situation even more disturbing is the fact that abrupt withdrawal from an antidepressant is known to produce suicide, hostility or psychosis, according to FDA warnings on withdrawal. Most general practitioners are unaware of this and mistakenly increase the dose or stop medication all together not knowing the withdrawal must be painstakingly slow and thus only making matters worse.

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. These reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid!

LA Times: Paxil (Brisdelle) Promotes Breast Cancer

e

The following is my comment in the LA Times addressing this new research:

“Little surprise this is when we knew years ago research indicated a SEVEN times greater chance of breast cancer with Paxil. But unknown to me when I saw the approval come through for Brisdelle this summer is that it was actually Paxil renamed!! Surprising? You bet! Because I have been one of the most outspoken opponents to antidepressants for 25 years, writing, lecturing, doing media interviews even with the LA Times & not even I knew the FDA was approving Paxil!

“There is no excuse for this!!! Why was Lilly allowed to change the name of Prozac to Sarafem to prescribe for PMDD & Wellbutrin allowed to change its name to Zyban to prescribe for smoking cessation? Anyone wonder what they are trying to hide? Feel free to go to our international support site to find out www.drugawareness.org.

“Patients need to know the type of drug they are taking! When prescribed an antidepressant they need to know what it is! When I did the Leeza Gibbons Show on the subject of mothers on antidepressants killing their own children we were told we could say the word “antidepressant,” but we could not say the brand names of the medications because of their advertisers. So with them peddling these drugs under another name & for different health issues, how does the patient know they are taking an antidepressant? With antidepressant side effects as deadly as homicidal & suicidal ideation this is criminal!”

I personally have lost two close friends to Paxil-induced breast cancer although one got cancer on her ear due to her use of Prozac first. Remember that all SSRIs work basically the same way and should have very similar effects. And my uncle, who had refused to even allow me to discuss antidepressants with him, died of a very fast moving cancer due to his use of Paxil. He was diagnosed with inoperable cancer on Thursday and by the following Wednesday he was dead. In my last conversation with him a day or two before his death as we said our goodbyes he said, “I know I have given you a LOT of flack about what you are doing concerning these drugs, but DON’T YOU EVER STOP because what has been done to me should be done to no one!”

This is why I am so firm in discussing what needs to be done even after coming off these medications. The damage they have caused needs to be addressed and alternatives used to rebuild in order to avoid cancer and many other serious health problems due to the post drug adverse effects of the antidepressants. If the deficit is not addressed that the drug leaves in its wake problems can arise. I am working with a young woman currently who now has breast cancer years after her use of Prozac. Just a coincidence? I do not believe it is. She has had no opportunity to rebuild after being incarcerated at age 13 due to the drug effects. So when I post information on alternative treatments for cancer you can see why I feel it is important to pay attention.

Ann Blake Tracy Interviewed on Jeff Rense Show 1/22/2014

jeff show with me

Listen to latest interview with Ann Blake Tracy on the Jeff Rense Show from just a few weeks ago …. and just in case you think anyone is immune from this serotonin nightmare let me share that I learned yesterday that a friend, only 41 years old, was buried last Thursday after dying in her sleep. I will need to check her current medications but a year ago it was a few including Neurontin and Topamx after having an initial reaction to Reglan which caused seizures for her. Of course before that Lexapro caused her adverse reactions. She was already hypoglycemic and Reglan causes serious blood sugar reactions that for her led to seizures. Then some idiot doctor had told her to drink Dr. Pepper for that of all things!!!! She had just gotten married on Christmas so will her poor new husband be next as doctors rush to medicate him for his loss?

There is MUCH more that is associated with this case that I will share as soon as I am able to do a little more investigation. She and I had discussed it several times. She clearly understood the dangers of antidepressants worrying often about her mother and sister who are both still on the drugs but yet still tragically placing her faith in the new drugs she was being given. Even worse is the fact that we were working to tie in the murder of her infant daughter years ago by another young child to antidepressants as well. For her I will continue the search for that information. I have little doubt at this point as the information we have gathered currently is overwhelming, but I want a final confirmation. And when I do … what we now know to be a nightmare with these drugs will prove to be the worst nightmare any of us could ever imagine!

Then this morning I awoke to more tragic news – the suicide of a dear friend who I did not realize had become “depressed” over the recent loss of his mother. Although antidepressants are NOT approved for situation depression – depression brought on by something like a death or relationship break-up, etc. – I am sure there were plenty of doctors offering him an antidepressant to get him through this. He was Jewish and it has been my experience over the past 25 years of specializing in antidepressants, that Jewish people generally do not handle these drugs well. It is likely due to the P450 2D6 liver enzyme system impairment that can run through various races and families thus making it more difficult to metabolize the antidepressant. When that happens of course it will cause the drug to build to toxic levels faster than it would for most. He too was way too young … (Click link below to continue and to listen to the radio interview)
