Media With Mental Health to Work Together for Suicide Prevention???

Public health burden of suicidal behavior among adults

aged =18 years — United States, 2008

The Deseret News in Salt Lake City just ran an article titled, “Media, mental health professionals discuss working together on suicide prevention?” Really? And how many are going to fall for that? The link to this original article is below and here is my comment on that article:

“Without question suicide is a huge problem plaguing our society. But in searching the cause few see the obvious as the cause, even when admitted, due to the huge amount of revenue associated with it. That is the drugs prescribed to those who are depressed – antidepressants which carry warnings of suicidal ideation. A decade ago antidepressants were given an FDA Black Box Warning (the next step from a complete ban).

“Now we should feel better knowing that media, who receive massive amounts of advertising dollars to promote these drugs, and groups like NAMI, who was shown by a Senate Probe led by Senator Charles Grassley to be 75% funded by Pharma, are looking for answers? Also just days ago JAMA published a study showing 40% of teaching hospitals, like UNI, have drug company ties.

http://jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1853147

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/22919-leaders-of-teaching-hospitals-have-close-ties-to-drug-companies-study-shows

“Propublica in their Dollars for Docs program is working to stop these vested interests. Until it is no longer financially advantageous to those searching I would not expect real answers to suicide prevention. The answer will continue to be “Take your drugs and don’t worry about the suicidal ideation warning. It will not affect you, only others.”

I should have finished with this line, “It will not affect you, only others, because as soon as you go manic on your antidepressant you will become invincable.”

My horrible experience with antidepressants [zoloft]

iStock_police-line-crime-scene-tape_20120323112925_640_480My horrible experience with antidepressants
Long Van Phung lphung86@yahoo.com

I was in the marines from 2005-2009 as infantry and went on two combat deployments to Iraq. I was having a rough time after my second deployment and was put on so many different antidepressants that seemed to do nothing at all. I received were empty promises of feeling better in 4-6 weeks. After a honorable discharge I began going to the Veterans Association where I was prescribed zoloft within 5 minutes of speaking with a phychitrist. It made me feel worse so I researched online and read many horror stories about zoloft. It was about 2 weeks later I told the doctor I felt worse and he told me it was the zoloft giving me more energy and making me anxious. I was working hard to get into the University of Delaware and was accepted but on September 3rd 2010 after breaking down crying I became completely focused on killing myself and surrounded by police outside the Veterans Association hospital I shot myself in the forehead point blank with a 9mm hollow point round. Although it sounds ridiculous I was able to still get out of my car and walk towards the police with the gun still in my hands (I was in total shock, just trying to wipe all the blood out of my eyes) and was tasered, and I remember face planting into the ground. It was a horrifying recovery and I’m still traumatized(I have a artificial piece of skull and severe left side weakness from the brain damage) and I had a extremely difficult experience weening off cymbalta recently after many failed attempts because the company makes it nearly impossible to get off the medication because the sizes of the doses. I had to have a friend help me by taking apart the capsules and lowering by less then a percent a day of cymbalta. Still I suffered terrible withdrawl effects. Phychitrist are basically the tools of pharmaceutical companies that repeat what pharma reps tell them (chemical imbalance, it’s like having diabetis) to get as many people as possible to take there drugs which are highly overrated in there effectiveness and underrated in the severity of withdrawl(or “discontinuation syndrome” since that sounds much more pleasant). I know I’m incredible lucky to be alive but people simply don’t understand how difficult each day is. I get agonizing headaches and I just can’t let go of what happened. I wish so badly that I had never started zoloft our trusted the Veterans Association phychitrist and the generic lines he says to get victims to start taking these terrible drugs. I don’t care much for myself but it bothers me so much that they are pushing these very powerful drugs on younger and younger children to make lifetime customers and increase profits.

Antidepressants???? Fashion Designer L’Wren Scott Commits Suicide This Morning

LWren Scott

L’Wren Scott Commits Suicide

This morning fashion designer, and long time girlfriend of Mick Jagger, L’Wren Scott sent a message to her aid asking her to stop by her Manhattan apartment. One and one half hours later when she arrived and let herself in with her own key she found Ms. Scott unresponsive, hanging by a scarf from a doorknob. Although she immediately called 911, it was too late to save Ms Scott.

I can tell you that in two and a half decades of tracking an investigating such suicides I have yet to see one like this one that did not involve an antidepressant. It happened early morning, obviously very impulsive and very much out of character, yet seemingly very determined since it was done by hanging from a doorknob.

There are rumors that her business was having problems. If that is true most doctors would not hesitate at all in giving her an antidepressant to “cope” with the stress or even to give her an antidepressant as a sleeping pill. Either way this could have been the end result of taking that prescription. Obviously we will need to wait for further reports, but being raised in Utah she would have had little concern about taking an antidepressant considering the widespread use and acceptance of the drugs there.

L’Wren Scott, a fashion model and designer who has dated Mick Jagger since 2001, was reportedly found dead in an apartment in Chelsea this morning. A source familiar with the investigation says that Scott’s body was found by her assistant at around 10 a.m. in a unit at 200 Eleventh Avenue.
The Post and the Daily News are reporting that Scott, 47, was found hanging by a scarf from a doorknob. An NYPD spokesman said they could not confirm the identity of the victim because the family has not been notified. The spokesman added that the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. Jagger’s Twitter account posted this photo of the Rolling Stones singer in Australia earlier today.

Scott, born Luann Bambrough, was adopted by a Mormon couple and raised in Utah. After photographer Bruce Weber spotted her 6’3″ frame (with 42-inch legs), she modeled for Chanel and Thierry Mugler in Paris. In the 1990s, she moved to LA and became a stylist for Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone, eventually designing her own clothes for shoots.
In 2006, Scott started her own fashion label, emphasizing sexy, form-flattering clothes; she told the Telegraph, “I’ve never met a woman who thinks she’s got a good enough figure.” Her designs have been worn by Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna, Michelle Obama and Christina Hendricks. (Hendricks wore a Scott design at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last month.) Last fall, Scott worked with Banana Republic on a collaboration, that was by all accounts a success.
If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide: do not leave the person alone; remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt; and call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.

(CNN) — L’Wren Scott, a noted fashion designer who has been Mick Jagger’s companion for more than a decade, was found dead in her New York apartment Monday of an apparent suicide, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation. She was 49.
Scott’s assistant found the designer hanging from a door knob with a scarf around her neck, the official said.
There were no signs of forced entry, and police did not find a suicide note, the official said.
Her assistant told police Scott sent a text Monday morning asking the assistant to “come by, and when the assistant arrived at approximately 10:02 a.m., Scott was dead in the living room, prompting the assistant to call police,” according to the official.
The New York Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, according to Sgt. Nieves with the New York Police Department
A spokesman for Mick Jagger said that the singer was completely shocked and devastated by the news.
Scott had been dating Jagger, 70, since at least 2003. The lanky former model designed clothes worn by a number of celebrities, including Madonna, Allison Williams and Christina Hendricks. She also created many of Jagger’s looks for the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary tour, which began in 2012 and is currently in Australia.
In addition to her haute creations, she designed a collection for Banana Republic that was introduced late last year.
“I don’t really jump on anything unless I believe it will deliver the quality and standards I stay true to. It is a very fun happy collection and I think it is classic and timeless and elegant,” she told Vanity Fair at the introduction last October.
Celebrities attending the event included Hendricks, Ke$ha, Rashida Jones and Michael B. Jordan, as well as Jagger.
On Monday, several stars mourned Scott on social media.
Actress Olivia Munn tweeted, “Shocked and saddened by the passing of @lwrenscott … she was an amazing soul, talented artist and an unbelievably giving friend. RIP.” Fellow designer Rachel Roy tweeted, “Rest in Peace, L’Wren Scott. You will be forever missed.”

Mick Jagger’s model-turned-designer girlfriend — whose fashion business was failing and millions of dollars in debt — killed herself in her luxurious Manhattan apartment Monday morning, police sources told The Post.
L’Wren Scott’s body was found shortly after 10 a.m. by an assistant to whom she sent a text message saying, “Come by” about 90 minutes earlier, police sources said.
The unidentified assistant used a key to open the front door and found Scott, 6-foot-3, hanging from a scarf tied to the L-shaped handle on a balcony door in the kitchen, sources said.

The assistant called 911 and cops responded to the ninth-floor apartment at 200 11th Avenue, near 24th Street.
There was no note and no signs of foul play, sources said, adding that Scott simply slumped to the floor after rigging the makeshift noose and let her body weight cut off the oxygen to her brain.
One source described it as a “painless” way to die.
Scott, 49, began dating the Rolling Stones’ frontman in 2001, and last year marked his 70th birthday by posting a vintage photo on Instagram of the rocker at age 21, wearing a pair of swim trunks, just before his band hit it big.
A spokesman for Mick Jagger, currently on tour with the Stones in Australia, said the singer was “completely shocked and devastated” by Scott’s death.
Several close friends, including actress Ellen Barkin, went to Scott’s apartment after learning of her death and spent time there with her body, a pal said.
“They’ve known that something was going on, and it’s been going on for at least a week,” the friend said, adding that Scott had been acting strangely and ducking phone calls.

Business records on file in Great Britain show that Scott’s London-based business, LS Fashion Ltd., was awash in debt, with an October balance sheet revealing it was $5.9 million in the red for 2012 after recording a $4.2 million deficit for 2011.
The balance sheet lists more than $1.7 million owed creditors within one year, and a whopping $7.6 million falling due after that.
Scott’s suicide also followed the last-minute cancellation of her London Fashion Week show last month, with WWD reporting that she had blamed “production delays in key show and couture pieces.”
But a fashion-industry source said the real reason the show was scrapped was that “L’Wren’s business just crashed.”
Another fashion source said: “I knew something was wrong when L’Wren cancelled her London Fashion Week show. That would have been so important to her. She was very prolific on Instagram and recently had gone quiet and hadn’t been posting so much.”

A third source added: “Everybody who knows L’Wren and Mick are totally and completely shocked.”
“Neither of them drink and do drugs, and they were always really affectionate with each other. There were no signs of problems in their relationship,” the source said.
A friend of Scott’s said she spent Christmas on the Caribbean island of Mustique, where “She was perfectly normal, she was giving out advice.”
“I’ve never known her to say anything to me like ‘I’m sad,’” the pal noted.
In addition, Scott recently cut a deal with the French cosmetics company Caudalie, which in October threw a dinner in her honor at The Plaza, where her friend said Scott was “happy as a clam.”
City records show that Scott’s apartment was bought for $5.6 million in 2010 by a holding company called Scottland Management.
In 2012, she mortaged the property for $1.25 million, then paid off that loan last year.
The swanky condo building features 15 apartments, each of which has a “sky garage” that let residents drive into a an elevator and park their cars on their own floors.
Other residents include Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, as well as Domenico Dolce, co-founder of the famed Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.
Sources said Scott’s apartment is currently worth at least $9 million, with one source adding that Jagger visited “all the time,” arriving via a chauffered car, and was last seen there a few weeks ago.
The adopted daughter of Mormon parents, Scott was raised in a small town in Utah as Luann Bambrough.
As a teen, she was discovered by famed fashion photographer Bruce Weber and changed her name to model for Chanel and Thierry Mugler before becoming a stylist for celebrities.
She later branched out into design, and is best known for her striking “Headmistress” dress, which has been worn by Madonna and Nicole Kidman.
Other fans of her form-flattering frocks include Naomi Cambell, Kate Moss, Sara Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama.

Drugawareness.org YouTube Channel – Teens on SSRIs

Jamie Tierney

It seems few of you are aware that the International Coalition for Drug Awareness has its own YouTube Channel with lots of information there. Once you subscribe to the Drugawareness Channel you will automatically be notified as we send out new videos – something we are gearing up to do a lot of in the near future as we comb through all of my older videos and recordings.

Find one video below as an example of some of the videos you will find there.

Sign up for the YouTube Drugawareness.org Channel here:

And here is a direct link to the videos on our YouTube channel: http://www.drugawareness.org/videos/

The following example is a news piece that covers the experience of two teens, Christopher Pitman & Jamie Tierney. At age 12 Chris was prescribed Paxil and then Zoloft and after only a few months killed the two people he loved the most, his grandparents, and then proceeded to burn the house down with their bodies still inside. Jamie at 15 became suicidal and full of rage after being given Effexor for migraine headaches.

You can see that news piece here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlLiAfiueo4&list=UUo-6uMPDOtwaPe1ec3Rhr3A

In posting the new information over the next few months I would hope it would give you a good picture of how much information has been out there for how long and what all has been accomplished at this point. If you are wondering why these antidepressants are still on the market from what you are seeing and learning currently, just wait until you see all that has already transpired and the information that has been out on the drugs for years now.

I have long said that those beginning to see this situation with these drugs need desperately to learn the history behind what has already transpired. We will also be including some very long, in depth, radio interviews on these drugs that will teach you things you have not yet heard anywhere else even though they are over a decade old. I encourage you to listen and learn and share with others so that they can see this antidepressant fiasco for what it really is.

CELEXA & BACLOFEN: Suicide of Australian Model Charlotte Dawson

Charlotte Dawson

CHARLOTTE DAWSON

“According to one friend, Dawson was fixated on an anti-anxiety drug that she thought would help her quit drinking. Fairfax Media understands Dawson was taking Baclofen, a muscle relaxant that French cardiologist Olivier Ameisen claimed had cured him of drinking alcohol, sparking international headlines. ”She looked a million dollars when I saw her last week,” a friend said. ”She had given up drinking and was talking about an anti-depressant she was taking … Charlotte subscribed to the theory ‘you take a pill for everything’. She sent me the link to a story on this drug, believing it would help her.”

The first question should be who on earth got her to believe that a muscle relaxant was an anti-anxiety drug?

Now that sure makes a lot of sense! She was taking an SSRI to increase serotonin … when the main function of serotonin is constriction of muscle tissue and then she took Baclofen, a muscle relaxer? Hmmm….did her body know which direction it was going?! And the muscle relaxer was suppose to help her stop drinking?!!!!!! HOW INSANE IS THAT?!!! Sounds like a terrible mix to me and if she had weaned off the antidepressant the cravings for alcohol would have been gone if only she had know that antidepressants cause cravings for alcohol! http://www.drugawareness.org/book-excerpts/ssris-and-alcohol

Young Man Attempts Suicide Via Arson While 200 Watch and Encourage Him

Steven

Stephen (20)

Read the original article below to learn more about the suicide attempt and the encouragement given from the online group for him to go ahead with his suicide attempt. Seems to me that makes them all an accomplices to murder!

But most are likely on these drugs themselves. This kid has been in this group for six years since he was 14 so how long has he been on them? No mention yet, but I have no doubt mention of them will soon appear.

My comment on the article in response to someone who said he was sad the boy was so depressed and he is glad he is now in the care of a doctor!:

“And just what makes you think he was NOT under a doctor’s “care”? That is generally where most of this obsession with suicide comes from – the antidepressants docs hand out like candy to these kids in spite of all the warnings especially for this age group!

“The suicidal ideation that is known to be double the rate for those under 25 taking an antidepressant means they have ruminating and compulsive thoughts of suicide along with various methods of suicide. What do you think fuels these rooms that never existed before these drugs?

“Why do we allow drugs to remain on the market that have both suicidal ideation and homicidal ideation listed as side effects?!!!!! We need not just ask what was wrong with those 200 who watched (check their meds) but also to ask what is wrong with us that we allow this to continue.

“For 25 years I have documented and built a database of cases featured in several peer reviewed medical journals, but with all the advertising $$$$ from Pharma no news will cover it!”

Antidepressant-induced suicide by train

Excellent article from Antidepaware detailing inquests in three cases of mothers throwing themselves in front of trains after being given antidepressants for PND! Our thanks goes out to our New Zealand Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness for bringing this article to us. I have found that it is almost impossible to find a suicide by train that does not involve the use of an antidepressant!

Let me also add to this article on PND that in gathering the thousands of antidepressant-induced tragedies over the past two and a half decades for our SSRIstories database (www.ssristories.drugawareness.org) I have also found the lack of suicides or psychosis in unmedicated moms suffering PND. It is rare to find a mother who commits suicide or goes into psychosis unless they are being medicated with an antidepressant.

One point I have always made in these cases of PND is to encourage all to check antidepressant package inserts where you will find that the possibility of suffering psychosis as a side effect from an antidepressant as opposed to the possibility of Post Partum Psychosis from PND is ten fold greater with the antidepressant than PND alone. Why increase a mother’s chances of psychosis so drastically by adding an antidepressant when the psychosis can lead to the mother taking not only her own life, but the life of her child as well?

I encourage all to read this article! http://antidepaware.co.uk/medicating-post-natal-depression/

Family: Man who set self on fire in DC was “mentally ill”

DC Man on Fire

Family: Man who set self on fire in DC was “mentally ill”

John Constantino’s burns after setting himself on fire in Washington DC were so severe that authorities needed to use DNA and dental records to identify him. He had carried a can of gasoline with him, poured it over himself, then lit himself on fire. Passing joggers took off their shirts to help put out the flames but he suffered burns over 80% of his body. Police had said Constantino was conscious and breathing at the scene, but he died later that night at a Washington hospital.

Of course the reason I have the words “mentally ill” in parenthesis is because most of these people are not really mentally ill, but having toxic reactions to medications. Remember the Yale study from 2001 Prevda and Bowers looking at the high rate of Bipolar or mania produced via antidepressants. They found that 200,000 patients were documented to have gone manic on SSRI antidepressants. They went on to point out that most doctors do not recognize the mania is caused by the medications stating that the real rate of antidepressant-induced mania would be far higher than that 200,000 figure. And those are only the ones who make it into a hospital. How many more like the thousands of cases documented in our database of cases at www.ssristories.drugawareness.org never made it into a hospital to be treated for their antidepressant-induced mania as this man did not before it was too late for him?

And according to the FDA another way antidepressants can produce a manic psychosis is through any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant or abrupt withdrawal from an antidepressant. They warn the abrupt change can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis which is generally a manic psychosis.

One type of mania that can be produced is pyromania where you have the compulsion to start fires. Combine that with the antidepressant-induced suicidal ideation and this type of tragedy is what you have as an end result. What a horrific thing for this family to suffer! Not one of these tragedies is worth what they or any other family has had to suffer in order for those who continue to demand these drugs to help them feel better. Not when there are safe alternatives for them to use to feel better. The risk to benefit is just NOT there!

Antidepressant Withdrawal: Thursday Afternoon Woman in Capitol Car Chase With Toddler in Car Gunned Down by Police

This sounds like it could be yet another case when it is a woman who rammed a barrier at the Capitol Building before going on a high speed chase with police while a toddler was in the car with her. No word yet on the condition of the child who was rushed to a hospital.

The impulsive actions, the high speed chase, the road rage in ramming a barrier, and doing all of this with a toddler in the car also might include suicide by cop or even murder/suicide by cop. We see all of this far too often with antidepressants and have from the beginning. The term “road rage,” “suicide by cop,” “high speed chase” … all seemed to appear after the introduction of Prozac to the market.

We will keep you updated as it progresses as it has just happened.

Update: The woman was  it was yet another medical professional, a dental hygienist this time, with a “history of “mental illness” which almost always means she had been on antidepressants to induce that mental illness before endangering her child as she did this afternoon in this high speed chase with police after ramming a police car. She had a one year old child in the car with her that was not hurt. So was she given on of these drugs for Post Partum depression?

This is yet another sad and tragic case for this woman and her family. If this was her child there is yet another little one who will be growing up without a mother.

I have long said that the largest single group I have in serious trouble on antidepressants are medical professionals. I have gathered a few cases that have just popped up as I have looked for some other articles in the past week. I should have that list ready for you ASAP

Update #2: If you understand these drugs and their effects these cases are so easy to predict. The latest report is according to ABC News, Carey had a history of mental health issues and suffered from post-partum depression.

Miriam Carey has been identified by authorities as a dental hygienist in Connecticut.

Former boss Dr. Barry J. Weiss told The New York Times that he and his partner fired Miriam Carey from their periodontics practice last year and cited her “temper” but would not go into detail.

Then the Washington Post reported that she has a sister in Brooklyn who is a nurse and another sister who has been a long time New York City police officer.

She was at home in Connecticut two days ago and no one knew she was in DC and were shocked to learn that. She also had no identification with her.

Update #3: Friday morning reports surfaced that she thought Obama was stalking her and they found the meds we all expected to be there! (Article directly below) Remember all the false accusations of abuse that come with antidepressants. False Memory Syndrome is a term coined not long after Prozac was introduced to the market and has been a main issue in some high profile cases including that of Kobe Bryant and the Wenatchee, Washington sex ring case where the state had to pay out $100 Million for wrongfully imprisoning 43 people for as much as two years on false allegations made by a 10 year old girl in foster care who had been on first Prozac and recently switched to Paxil.

BREAKING NEWS: “Investigators found two medications in the apartment of Miriam Carey: one used to treat schizophrenia and symptoms of bipolar disorder; the other an antidepressant, a law enforcement source briefed on the investigation told CNN.

“Carey’s boyfriend contacted police in December saying he feared for the safety of their child, who was 4 months old at the time, according to a law enforcement source involved in the investigation. The boyfriend said the woman was acting delusional, claiming the president had placed Stamford under lockdown and that her house was under electronic surveillance, the source said.

“He told police that she was suffering from post-partum depression, was having trouble sleeping and was on medication. Carey underwent a mental health evaluation, said the source, …”

Update #4: She had been taking the antidepressant Lexapro and the atypical antipsychotic Risperdone….”Authorities who searched Carey’s apartment in Stamford found discharge papers that listed risperidone, a medication to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, a law enforcement source said. They also found paperwork listing escitalopram, an antidepressant commonly prescribed under the brand name Lexapro, according to the source.”

Update #5: In an interview by Fox 5 out of DC we learn she was in medically supervised withdrawal which will help you understand why the International Coalition for Drug Awareness has since the mid 90’s warned of extreme caution in withdrawal indicating that it should be extremely gradual to avoid serious reactions and a warning now goes out with all our posts. Few doctors know what they are doing in safely withdrawing patients from antidepressants as they are always trying to withdraw patients far too rapidly than they should which the FDA warns can cause suicide, hostility and/or psychosis:

“Her family said she had been suffering from postpartum depression with psychosis but was not dangerous.

“Carey-Jones said her sister had been on medication for postpartum depression but was being taken off the drugs under medical supervision.

“They told her she could get off medication,” Carey-Jones said, adding, “There were no indications she was unstable.”

WARNING: In sharing this information about adverse reactions to antidepressants I always recommend that you also give reference to my CD on safe withdrawal, Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!, so that we do not have more people dropping off these drugs too quickly – a move which I have warned from the beginning can be even more dangerous than staying on the drugs!

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. And these reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid! ZOLOFT – WELLBUTRIN-INDUCED SUICIDE: OFFICER TOM FORT, JR’s MESSAGE FROM THE GRAVE

Elaine and Tommy

Elaine Billings and her son Officer Thomas Fort, Jr.

A New York State Police Officer, Tommy, lost his life to Zoloft and Wellbutrin

but then came back with a message for his mother and us all….

Everyone, and especially those who have lost a loved on to an antidepressant-induced suicide, needs to hear Tommy’s message to his mother from the grave. His statement is the truth for all who have died on these deadly antidepressants and the same message they would all bring to their loved ones if they could find a way! It is the message I have worked to bring out with my book and my work for two over decades and Tommy’s message only confirms it. Everyone needs to know this!

Please click the link below to watch this video about Tommy and hear his message.

Tommy’s Story: The story of Tommy Fort as written by his mom Elaine Billings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AqtqbL-Wic&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D3AqtqbL-Wic&app=desktop

Tommy was an investigator and hostage negotiator for the New York State Police. Over 700 people attended his wake.

His mother says this is the only thing she knows to do….she says, “tell my Tommy’s story. His was not a planned suicide. He got up that Thursday morning and cleaned the pool, mowed the lawn, called a friend to have lunch the next day, called the DA to set up a meeting for the following week on a case they were both involved with.”

“Tommy’s wife went out with her mother and Tommy was going to spend the day with his two children, aged 9 and 11.”

“His son asked him if he would go pick up a friend for him to play with. Tommy said yes, and went and got him.”

“Then sometime close to 1:00 o’clock his daughter asked him if  he would go get her friend. Again Tommy said yes.”

“But he never made it there, instead he drove to a big downtown parking lot and got his work gun out of his locked trunk, got back into the car, placed the gun to his head and pulled the trigger!”

“I have asked myself over and over what happened? What agony? Psychotic break? What happened to his mind? When I think of what terrible thing or thoughts hit him to make him think that the only thing he could do is kill himself… sometimes it feels like it’s eating me up, but I know I have to stay strong because  it is what he would want me to do.”

“I know he didn’t mean it, because he came to me and told me. I am now his voice and I will be his voice until I breathe my last breath! The reason is easy for me, I love him with every ounce of my being!”
