Justice For Juveniles
is a group of people who have come together to try to make a change for children being tried as adults and senteneced under mandatory guidelines.
It is called Christophers Bill (The Juvenile
Justice Reform Act), after the tragic 30-year sentencing of
Christopher
Pittman who committed a violent act on Zoloft.
One amendment of the bill states that no child under the influence of a prescribed mind altering drug can be tried as an adult under mandatory guidelines. ICFDA is pleased to support this petition and bill which will be presented to the South Carolina Legislature and eventually to the US Congress. Please give it your support by signing their online petition.
