PROZAC EYES: VT Social Worker, 3 Relatives Killed Over CPS/DCF Custody Battle

Jody Herring

JODY HERRING

Laughing and calm after the killings Jody Herring pleaded not guilty today of shooting and killing a social worker and 3 of her own relatives last Friday only weeks after losing custody of her nine year old daughter to the state of Vermont. This killing of a DCF/CPS worker is certainly not a first like this and there is likely to be many more of these cases.

Why would I say that?

Because it is common practice for DCF/CPS to put children they take into the system on antidepressants since of course they are depressed after being ripped away from their families. But not only does DCF/CPS drug the children with these drugs known to produce both homicidal and suicidal compulsions, they also do everything possible, including working with family court judges, to force everyone on an antidepressant who is remaining at home in a family who has a child taken. I watched them do it to a friend in my old neighborhood just three years ago. Luckily she and her other children knew enough to refuse the drugs in spite of them working to force them on them any way they could think of.

The most likely reason why the DCF/CPS workers want everyone else drugged is because the large majority of these social workers are on antidepressants themselves and far too many of them completely psychotic on them already! The social worker supervisor involved in my friend’s case admitted she had been on the same antidepressant, Zoloft, which they forced the 13 year old daughter on, for a total of 20 years!

In a case I worked on in Texas several years ago the man was an ex-social worker from Chicago. After running into legal problems as a result of Prozac he had weaned off the drug and began to realize how many insane things he had done while on it. He shared with me that while a social worker in Chicago he had become convinced by his Prozac-fueled delusions that a family with three children were Satan worshipers and became determined to remove the children from that home.

So convinced was he of those delusions that he even went to Satan worship meetings and allowed them to put blood and semen all over him, enduring it all in order to get more information to take the children from this family. He said that the grandparents had even come from the North East to try to stop him from doing this but he had been able to convince everyone otherwise and the children had been removed from the home. He wondered if there was any way to get the children back to their family.

Then in a case in Utah a DCF/CPS worker admittedly on Effexor informed the mother, whose children she had taken out of the home, that she carried a gun in her purse. This information was given to the mother as a threat. To give you an idea of how insane this case was the children were taken because the mother had refused to allow her daughter who had seizures to take a medication recentley prescribed to her. The drug prescribed was Adderall and the obvious reason the mother did not want her daughter to take the drug is that stimulant medications like Adderall are contraindicated for those with seizures because they trigger seizures!

So the reasons DCF/CPS used for keeping her children (they took both of her children over this) was because the mother owned a knitting machine and as a Mormon had food storage – something members are taught to have in order to be prepared for any kind of emergency situation such a natural disasters, loss of employment, medical crisis, etc. The worker told the mother that having a knitting machine was evidence of her suffering from OCD and having food storage was a hoarding disorder. So the mother agreed to get rid of both.

Of course doing so did nothing toward getting her children back. Now for the most ironic piece of information in this case….this mother had just been honored by being designated as Utah’s “Mother of the Year”!

This is your tax dollars at work! Is it any wonder that these people are being targeted by those they oppress, especially when they are then forcing them on medications that produce the majority of the mass shootings in this country?

To be fair in this case it should be noted that with Jody Herring’s previous drug charges she could have been given antidepressants in a court ordered drug rehab program rather than DCF/CPS forcing her on medication. The practice of the large majority of drug rehab programs is to take someone off one illegal drug and put them on five plus prescription medications instead.

Ex-cop Kills Man in Upscale FL Movie Theater Over Texting

CurtisReeves

Curtis Reeves Faces Murder Charges

In an upscale movie theater in Tampa, Florida a highly respected 71 year old ex-police officer, Curtis Reeves, shot and killed a man over an argument about his texting during the previews before the movie started. Reeves said he feared for his life after the man, Chad Oulson, 43, threw popcorn at him during the argument.

Many questions remain…

Had his gun not jammed after that first shot that killed Chad Oulson, could there have been other victims or a suicide?

Where did such unjustified fear come from? Was it triggered the same way that paranoia came for George Zimmerman – a pill? With George it was Adderall. Was there a pill behind the fear that Curtis Reeves experienced before killing Chad Oulson, a father who was simply texting messages to his 3 year old daughter’s babysitter before the movie began?

Mr. Reeves apparently had a recent history of being very bothered over simple things…

“The judge was told that after hearing about the shooting on the news, a woman had contacted police to say Reeves had told her off for texting when she was watching a film on December 28.
Although she didn’t make a complaint at the time, the woman claimed Reeves had ‘glared at her the entire time throughout the movie and afterwards’ even following her to the rest room at one point.
A neighbor, Matthew Harris, told the Tampa Bay Times that Reeves had confronted him about 18 months ago for having his car stereo too loud.
‘He kind of snapped at me at first, but then he calmed down,’ Mr Harris said, adding that Reeves had told him he used to be in the police.”

Clearly something does not seem right about this case and someone needs to be checking medications. Florida has long had one of the highest rates of use of antidepressants and we all know how often the elderly are drugged with multiple meds.

COLD TURKEY WITHDRAWAL = TRIPOLAR MESS

withdrawal

COLD TURKEY WITHDRAWAL = TRIPOLAR MESS = QUICK TRIP TO HELL

Note: Thank you so very much to Nick Cole for sharing this most important information on the dangers of cold turkey withdrawal from these deadly mind altering medications!!!! As we have warned for two decades coming off these drugs too quickly can even be worse than staying them! (And if you have educated yourself on the effects of these drugs you know how deadly staying on them can be!)

Three years ago today, I checked myself into rehab for prescribed iatrogenic benzodiazepine and psych drug dependence. Not knowing any better and without support to come off of the drugs (that I finally KNEW were the cause of all my years of illness) from my doctor, I allowed them to cold-turkey me from six psychiatric drugs (Klonopin, Xanax, Ambien, Remeron, Seroquel, Adderall). Within months, I was suicidal and psychotic and could no longer cope in that condition.

Going to rehab was the second biggest mistake in my life; the first was ever taking this poison in the first place. They treated me horribly, like a street-junkie and called me an addict, forced me to AA/NA meetings – for medications that my doctor prescribed for me and told me to take regularly for my supposed “mental illness”. What they did to me was criminal, barbaric and medically unsound.

I attempted to reinstate the benzo only (I stayed off of the others) to taper with minimal success, as 4 months had passed in the cold-turkey state and the drugs don’t always work again that far off from a CT. I tapered off of the Valium that I reinstated and have been off for almost 10 months.

Everyday is still a living hell where I’m bed-bound for the majority of the day. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone (except maybe the psychiatrist who is responsible for this inhumane suffering). I am in severe pain, have DP/DR, cognitive dysfunction, a sensation that I’m “on a boat out to sea”, nausea, blurred vision, mood swings, depression and a plethora of other debilitating symptoms with no end in sight. I can barely physically take care of myself and I live alone with no in-person support. I cannot work. I lost my home, my friends, my family and everything that was of any value to me, other than my life which I came scarily close to losing too.

PLEASE DO NOT allow anyone to cold-turkey you from psychiatric drugs. You will be at risk for a severe, protracted withdrawal syndrome that could last for YEARS. Do your research and homework and find someone who has knowledge of tapering these medications to guide you. If your doctor tries to rush you off of your medications- FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR that will support you in a slow taper at a speed your body can tolerate.

I can only hope that with more time I will see more improvements and functionality. Psychiatric drugs are toxic poison which disable the brain and CNS.

The worst part is that I didn’t need ANY of these medications. I allowed a doctor to label me, to drug me and to destroy my life over “work-related stress” which spiraled into polydrugging with multiple psych meds because the more drugs that were added, the more I experienced tolerance and side effects that were MISdiagnosed by a pill-pushing psychiatrist as “mental illness”. It can happen SO easily to anyone who’s vulnerable, trusting and uneducated about the destructive nature of these medications. I thought the same as SO many other psych drug victims- “Surely, my doctor wouldn’t prescribe me something harmful”. I was very terribly WRONG. And when I became sick from the medication, the medical community not only abandoned me as a patient but blamed me for my own suffering.

It is my hope that before I die that we see the “psychiatric drug bubble” burst and the truth revealed about these noxious poisons that are being handed out all over the world to innocent unsuspecting people and children. Until then, I will not give up. I will fight to continue to spread the word about these drugs and the people who prescribe them. And I will continue to fight to reclaim my health that was unfairly stolen from me.

Thank you to everyone in the psych drug withdrawal communities online who have befriended me, supported me and loved me when the rest of the world turned their backs on me, blamed me and wrote me off as “mentally ill” or “not trying hard enough”. Thank you for your validation and for sharing your stories and experiences so candidly so that others can learn from you and not make the same mistakes. All of you are the biggest warriors I have ever met. I wouldn’t be alive today without your support and friendship. You know who you are and I am so grateful for you.

For anyone going through this – keep going. I’m told we all recover and heal with time. As hard as it is, it has to be worth it to be medication-free and healthy; out from underneath the control of doctors and their “medicines”.

Peace and continued healing to each and everyone of you. Much love.

You never know what you’re gonna get…Thank you Psychiatry and Big Pharma. For turning me into a tripolar MESS.

Nick Cole

George Zimmerman’s Wife Doubts His Innocence in Martin Killing After Being Attacked by Husband

Shellie Zimmerman

Shellie Zimmerman

Only weeks ago I posted about George Zimmerman being on Adderall when Trayvon Martin was killed and that the drug could have produced paranoia where there was little to no reason for it and triggered the extreme violence of the attack…leading to a death that could have been prevented. Well now George Zimmerman has attacked his own wife and she is doubting his innocence after seeing this violence in her husband where he threatened her and punched her father in the nose. She has now filed for divorce.

Am I surprised? Not in the least! The adverse reactions from the medications will continue to worse as time goes on and more and more meds are added on as they are prescribed to treat the adverse reactions he is having to the first one. I would expect that antidepressants were added to his medications after this incident with Trayvon Martin and in Zimmerman’s dealing with the stress of the court case. Of course this would make him more of a powder keg than he would have been while just on the Adderal which has been found in court to produce impulsive cases of murder.

His wife, Shellie Zimmerman, reported to the Today Show this morning that her husband had “a look in his eyes that I’ve never seen before.” And she is wondering now who she is married to – a statement that many, many mates of those on these deadly medications have made repeatedly over the past several decades. And most mates have seen that look in the eyes and know to be frightened out of their minds when they see it….that blank determined stare that brings on serious adrenalin rushes to help you exit quickly!

“Although cops reported that no gun was found after they responded to the dispute, she still believes her husband was packing.

“I absolutely stand by my story,” she said. “I did not see a gun. But … I know my husband. I saw him in a stance and a look in his eyes that I’ve never seen before.”

“This person that I’m married to, that I’m divorcing, I’ve kind of realized now that I don’t know him,” she told Matt Lauer on Thursday. “And I really don’t know what he’s capable of.”

“…this revelation in my life has really helped me to take the blinders off.”

ZOLOFT & ADDERALL: Linsay Lohan’s Family Plans Intervention: California

Paragraph six reads: “Among the pills she apparently takes are Attention Deficit Disorder medication Adderall, anti-depressant Zoloft and pills to treat anxiety and bi-polar disorder.”

Lindsay Lohan’s family is planning to stage an intervention.

Lindsay’s father Michael Lohan – who claims she is addicted to prescription medication – revealed he and her mother Dina are concerned the star’s life is spiralling out of control and have discussed forcing their daughter to get professional help.

Michael said: “I had a conversation with her, her mother and everyone. Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to be doing things in a pretty public way.

“But Dina has got to get on the same page with me. It’s a serious situation. You can’t just talk about it and tell me that you want to do an intervention and then do nothing.”

It has been claimed Lindsay – who has completed three previous stints in rehab – is addicted to a cocktail of different prescription medications.

Among the pills she apparently takes are Attention Deficit Disorder medication Adderall, anti-depressant Zoloft and pills to treat anxiety and bi-polar disorder.

Michael says he has been forced to speak out publicly about his 23-year-old daughter’s substance problem as it is the only way to make her pay attention to him.

He explained to website RadarOnline: “When Lindsay doesn’t adhere or listen to what I say about serious situations, I feel I have to speak publicly to put pressure on her. If she doesn’t take my advice and do what I say & the more pressure I put on her, the more likely she is to eventually do the right thing.”

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Lindsay is close to having a mental breakdown.

A source told gossip website X17online: “Lindsay is so close to going to rehab, but what she really needs is something way more than most rehabs can offer. This is way beyond just drugs and alcohol.”

ZOLOFT, PROZAC, Adderall & Ritalin: 18 Year Old Shoots Deputy: Critcal …

WHEN ARE DOCTORS EVER GOING TO REALIZE THAT THEY CANNOT GIVE ALL OF THESE DRUGS TOGETHER?!!!!!!! THERE IS NO CLINICAL DATA TO PROVE THE SAFETY OF EVEN TWO OF THEM GIVEN IN COMBINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paragraphs 11 though 14 read: “To combat attention disorders and other conditions, the teen took Ritalin, Zoloft, Prozac and Adero, among other drugs, Bryce said, toting the various prescriptions with him in a pill sorter.”

“The medicine sedated Adrian for hours. He was often unresponsive and seemingly unaware of people talking to him while on the medication, Bryce said.”

“The assortment of pills ‘took a toll on him,’ he said.”

“Other times Adrian displayed anger he seemed unable to control, Bryce said. Some of it was typical teen behavior, but sometimes Adrian “blacked out” and later forgot about the episodes, Bryce said.”

BOURG To understand what happened, Bryce Broussard sifts through memories of his son.
Related Links:

He cries as he remembers an 18-year-old boy who struggled to read, who needed help filling out job applications and had an unpredictable and explosive temper, he said.

The same young man earned money by cutting Hope Street yards, who welded his own workout bench in school and sometimes fell asleep wearing headphones.

The teen, Adrian Broussard, is now charged with attempted first-degree murder, accused of shooting Terrebonne deputy David Bourg three times Tuesday and leaving him in critical condition.

Still reeling over the arrest, Bryce, 36, said he and his wife, Amy, plan to support his son. He finds it hard to comprehend Adrian committing the crime, he said, but recognizes the behavior problems that may have contributed to the shooting.

“He was a good kid, but there’s something wrong with him,” said Bryce, an offshore worker. “He would blow up over nothing.”

Adrian Broussard’s last steady home was 128 Hope St. in Bourg, where his father said Adrian lived for two years before moving to live with a relative in Montegut.

He struggled through school at South Terrebonne High to earn a technical-skill degree, Bryce said. Rusting in the yard is a workout bench and frames for four-wheelers all of it Adrian’s work.

Often unable to concentrate, Adrian took a slew of medications, his father said. But he never seemed more focused or content than when welding or dissembling a motor.

“He wanted to make different things that nobody else had,” Bryce said.

To combat attention disorders and other conditions, the teen took Ritalin, Zoloft, Prozac and Adero, among other drugs, Bryce said, toting the various prescriptions with him in a pill sorter.

The medicine sedated Adrian for hours. He was often unresponsive and seemingly unaware of people talking to him while on the medication, Bryce said.

The assortment of pills “took a toll on him,” he said.

Other times Adrian displayed anger he seemed unable to control, Bryce said. Some of it was typical teen behavior, but sometimes Adrian “blacked out” and later forgot about the episodes, Bryce said.

His unwieldy behavior and penchant for mechanic work followed the family to Disney World last summer, where the teen preferred to stay at the hotel rather than visit the parks, they said. When the family truck broke down, he worked on it without hesitation.

The father and son bought parts and repaired the truck in the hotel parking lot, he said.

“He helped me piece by piece, tearing it down,” he said.

Bryce said the family tried to help him find a job after graduation. The family ate at Golden Corral during one trip into Houma, and Adrian’s temper flared at servers who told him the restaurant wasn’t serving steak.

He berated the kitchen staff, telling them none knew how to cook, Bryce said. He also threw his cup in the dining room, sending drink all over surrounding tables.

“It was nothing nice,” he said.

Neighbors said the Broussard family seemed to have a troubled home life, citing fights and police visits to the trailer. Bryce and Amy Broussard said they were close despite the incidents.

“We’re not saying we’re perfect,” Amy Broussard said.

Adrian Broussard left the Hope Street trailer several months ago to stay with cousins in Montegut and only occasionally spent time with his father after that, Bryce said.

Just before midnight Tuesday, Adrian allegedly gunned down a deputy investigating reports of a suspicious person outside the Montegut Post Office.

By 1 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were at the Broussard’s trailer demanding to know where Adrian was, Bryce said. He said he spent much of the morning handcuffed inside a police cruiser that drove through Montegut in search of the teen.

The elder Broussard was charged that day with simple criminal damage to property and theft of goods over $500, according to jail records. Broussard said the arrest stemmed from outstanding warrants.

Adrian was arrested about 12 hours after the shooting when a resident found him inside an abandoned home, police have said. He is being held at the Terrebonne Parish jail in lieu of a $2 million bond on the attempted first-degree-murder charge. He is also charged with simple burglary, trespassing, possession of marijuana and illegal carrying a weapon, deputies said.

Deputies had searched for Adrian Broussard earlier Tuesday to arrest him on warrants for felony theft and criminal damage. His bond for the warrant charges is $20,000.

Deputy Bourg, a five-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office who is married with children, remains in stable condition in the critical care unit at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

While Bryce is hoping for the best outcome for his son, he says he also hopes Bourg is able to heal.

“We are praying for a full recovery,” Bryce said. “We apologize to the family, and we’re very sorry for what happened.”

4/9/2001 – Back-to-back documentaries tonight and tomorrow.

Back-to-back documentaries on children and psychotropic
medications, tonight and tomorrow night, on A&E and PBS.
Here’s a review from the NEW YORK TIMES.

Television Review: Ifs, Ands or Buts of Drugs for Restless U.S.
Children

By C McDONALD

By pure coincidence, two documentaries on two different
channels are arriving back to back tonight and tomorrow to
examine the same issue: the widening and sometimes
harrowing use of psychoactive drugs in America to modify
children’s behavior. Suffice it to say that the programs ˜ the first
on A&E, the other on PBS ˜ are in many ways redundant.

They even largely look alike: both of these well-made
presentations are structured around intimate portraits of people
caught up in this anguishing phenomenon.

Thus, over two nights, we encounter seven boys and girls, some
illustrating the drugs’ benefits, others telling of depression,
malnourishment, even psychosis after being put on
medications. We’re also introduced to Adderall, Zoloft,
Wellbutrin, Cylert, Dexedrine and, most prevalent of all, Ritalin ˜
drugs administered to help troubled children sit still in school,
concentrate, get along with others (including the teacher) and
have fruitful lives.

Given the programs’ similarities, the obvious question is, which
is the one to watch: “Generation Rx: Reading, Writing and
Ritalin,” one of Bill Kurtis’s “Investigative Reports,” to be shown
on A&E tonight, or “Medicating Kids,” a Frontline special
appearing on PBS tomorrow?

The answer is not so cut and dried. Both hourlong
documentaries are serious, sometimes startling contributions to
an important discussion over the increasing ˜ and some say
spurious ˜ diagnosis of attention deficit disorder and attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder in children (up to four million cases,
by one estimate). And for all the parallels, each program
contains an angle or two that the other doesn’t.

The A&E program, for instance, looks at the alternative of
long-term drug-free behavior therapy. The Frontline
documentary, more aggressively, suggests that drug
manufacturers and certain pliable doctors may have entered into
unholy alliances to promote the use of the drugs among
children.

What’s more, watching both programs affords an illuminating
opportunity to see how two of the lamentably few investigative
bodies still standing in television journalism can differ so
markedly in tone even when plowing the same ground.

The Kurtis production wastes no time in establishing a darkly
dramatic approach, not to mention tipping its hand to its
sympathies. “It’s scary: we’re polluting our best resource,” says
an anonymous, unchallenged voice in the opening. “Putting our
kids on these drugs when they really don’t need it.” Mr. Kurtis, the
host, asserts that use of the drugs may challenge “the very
essence of childhood itself.”

Frontline takes a more measured tack, which ultimately gives it
the edge, declaring at the outset its more open-minded
intentions: “We wanted to know why kids are being prescribed
these drugs and whether or not they help.”
All sides get a fair hearing in both reports: those who say the
drugs have rescued many children from calamitous lives, and
those who say the drugs have been wildly overprescribed,
leading in one case, recalled on Frontline, to a 12-year-old boy’s
classroom suicide attempt using a pencil.

Both presentations also acknowledge that it is too early to know
the drugs’ long-term effects. But only Frontline seems willing to
end on an honestly inconclusive note. On A&E, Mr. Kurtis can’t
resist a loaded sign- off about Einstein and the scientist’s own
apparent attention deficit as a child. Where might we be, Mr.
Kurtis seems to ask, if the father of relativity had been a child of
Ritalin?

9/26/2000 – Adderall Maker Sued in Case of Death and Attempted Suicide

Andy Vickery, who has led the way in filing SSRI
death cases, has taken on the case of Ryan Ehlis
who was aquitted last year in the death of his baby
daughter while in a psychotic break produced by
the prescription drug Adderall.

Notice in the following article that the drug makers
admit that in a “small number” of patients the drug
does produce psychois and that they are sorry
for what happened in this case, BUT they still
stand by the safety and effectiveness of their drug.

Obviously they are not sorry enough to stop what they
are doing. So now we will hear that they are sorry for
the next death, and the next, and the next?

If you happen to be that individual for whom this drug,
or any other drug, opens the flood gates to hell via a
“rare” psychotic break, who cares if it is listed as a “rare”
reaction! For you it was not “rare”!

How can what happened to the Ehlis family be considered
an “acceptable risk”?

And yet for Eric Harris at Columbine High School who was
on Luvox the psychosis was listed as a “frequent” reaction, not
even “rare,” and the FDA considers that as an “acceptable
risk” while the whole country clammers for safer schools
because of Eric’s Luvox-induced psychotic break that took
15 lives at Columbine.

Thanks to these drugs we live in a world gone mad!
Hats off to the Ehlis family for having the courage to
fight back for the damage they have suffered! It is not
an easy task!

to recover medical, legal and funeral expenses.

Ryan Ehlis, 26, of Grand Forks, had been taking Adderall,
designed to improve mental concentration, when he shot
5-day-old Tyra on Jan. 30, 1999.

Psychiatrists testified in court and the judge agreed that
Ehlis lacked the capacity to understand what he was doing
because of the drug. Its label warns that in very rare
circumstances, it can cause ”psychotic episodes at
recommended doses.”

Ehlis said that through the lawsuit he hopes to bring
more attention to the danger of some prescription drugs.

”I think more needs to be known about these drugs in
general,” he said. The lawsuit, filed Friday in federal
court, asks drug maker Shire Richwood Inc., of
Florence, Ky., for more than $100,000 in damages,
said Ehlis’ attorney, Andy Vickery.

Shire Richwood spokesman Stefan Antonsson
declined comment on the lawsuit, but said: ”We
are deeply saddened by the tragedy that took
place in North Dakota.”

Medical experts and the drug’s manufacturer say
Adderall remains a safe and effective drug for
controlling Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder,
or ADHD.

Ehlis, diagnosed with ADHD as a child, was a student
at the University of North Dakota when he started taking
Adderall in January 1999 to help him manage the disorder.
Weeks later, he fatally wounded his newborn, then shot
himself in the abdomen.

The drug is to be prescribed under close medical supervision.
But Ehlis did not seek medical attention at the time of the killing,
apparently because he did not realize he was having a psychotic
event, Vickery said.

My Son’s Experience on Ritalin

“So many times doctors are drugging our children when they could be helped with proper nutrition, discipline and/or counseling.”

Your story so touched my heart (Matthew’s Story). I too have a son who by the grace of god is doing fine. He sounds much like your son, animals and kids always love him. He has such a kind and gentle spirit and a really great sense of humor. But unnecessary prescribed drugs almost ruined his life and ours.

He was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) in the 6th grade. But prior to that starting around 4th grade we were told (by his so called school psychologist) that he was emotionally disturbed and would end up on drugs and in prison if things did not change. We, of course, were devastated and immediately got into family counseling. Two years later he was diagnosed with ADD. The doctor in charge of his case prescribed Ritalin and things changed almost immediately. He became very compliant with not trouble at school. The doctor saw us every three months just to weigh him, see how he was feeling and give us another prescription. As time went on we had to keep increasing the dose to make sure of the proper results. My son’s behavior improved (always temporarily) but he was still failing all subjects. His self esteem was terrible, he was not growing, he hardly ate and had constant stomach cramps. I was always silently worried about suicide. Finally through self curiosity and research found out that they were giving my son medication that the FDA classed with LSD and Cocaine! And that ADD is in many cases successfully treated through the diet. They were drugging him and we were letting them! This was when I immediately took my son off Ritalin cold turkey. Probably not the best way to handle it but I lost all trust in his doctor and just panicked. We started giving him all natural dietary supplements and watched what he was eating. He went through some withdrawals but grew 6 inches in one summer. He is now 18 years old and 6 feet tall. He is doing very well in Job Corp. (couldn’t deal with school because of being so far behind) and will probably be self a sufficient adult.

So many times doctors are drugging our children when they could be helped with proper nutrition, discipline and/or counseling. Since I discovered the nutrition aspect of a lot of this I realize too that our very food is also harming us. So much is processed to the extreme and most of the nutrients are sucked out of them. Even fresh produce is affected. The only way to get everything we need is our diets is to eat as best we can and take supplements.

I am so sorry things turned out the way they did for you and your family. I don’t pretend to understand how god works in these areas. I just know that he is in charge and must know what he is doing. We have to believe that. What else do we have?

My prayers are with you. I really appreciate and share your passion in telling others to be aware of what we are taking and giving to our children. I question every thing now. Even to the point of insulting the so called experts. Who cares! If I don’t question and research than who will.

Again, my prayers are with you and your family. Thank you again for listening to god and sharing your story. I am sure many will be helped and even saved by your heart felt words.

Health Deteriorated on Meridia

“I am very angry and scared. I may not be out of the woods.”

Dear Ann Blake-Tracy,

I am a 62-year old mother of three grown sons. I have been exceptionally healthy all of my life. On 9/4/99, my birthday, I looked in the mirror and said to myself, “Jane, you would never have gotten those lines over your lip if you had never smoked.” I then started on my campaign to stop smoking and I did just that. When I grew up, all the movie stars smoked, it was glamorous, my parents smoked. But, I made a decision and this time I would make it. I DID!!! Only to have this devastating thing happen to me. I didn’t have any illness from smoking and decided I wasn’t going to.

But when I stopped smoking I gained 22 lbs. So, on my yearly visit to my gynecologist, I told him about the weight gain and he put me on Meridia. I had never heard of this drug, but had high hopes for results. I am a dancer and (vain about my looks) and this 22 lbs. seemed just too much. I breezed through the menopause and was a little heavier than my younger days but still an attractive, well proportioned, active lady. I was raised to think “Wellness”. My mother was a nurse and my Irish father thought eating right was the answer, and that young women should not be too thin. So, I think I had a very healthy outlook and just tried to reject illness. Besides having healthy genes, and youthful genes, I look at least 20 years younger than I am. I was so fortunate!!!

Shortly after starting Meridia, my right heal began to hurt, shooting pain near the Achilles tendon. I started walking on breaks at work, so I attributed it to that. My balance also seemed a little off. Also, there was a drastic change in my vision, but, being me, I told myself that I was finally going to need reading glasses.

Still thinking “Wellness” but trying to admit that I was getting older. I visited an eye doctor and he asked if I was a diabetic. I am not and have never been. So, he said to go get checked for diabetes, since he had never heard of going from a -150 to -275 so quickly, and if I was diabetic, maybe when I was on medication, my vision would return to normal.

All the diabetic tests were normal. My gynecologist ran the test. At that point, I mentioned to the doctor’s nurse that I was getting suspicious of the Meridia. And she snapped at me, “Then you must be one of the one’s that can’t take this drug.” I was furious, but kept my mouth shut. I have since confirmed to her my suspicions and asked that she tell the doctor and not to prescribe this drug to anyone else. Now, she has humbled a little.

Other symptoms: Broken bones in my feet. Confirmed stress fractures in right foot and I am being checked on the left foot this week. Dizzy spells, loosing my balance, staff infection right hand, from a slight stick to palm which did not even bleed. A rash on my nipples that is driving me crazy. After taking augmentin for the staff infection, and getting a big dose of something in my butt, an antibiotic, I got something else, the exterior areas of my vagina became bright, maroonish, red and burned. This has gone away.

There are some other symptoms but I have taken up enough of your time. I am really scared and this is why. As healthy as I am, with only the one doctor, the gynecologist, until this all occurred, I have been in touch with a legal firm out of Arizona and the young, legal asst., college student, pre-law, has told me that I may be experiencing decalcification of the bones. They have several people who have contacted them and have done a lot of research.

Well, that’s most of the story. I am very angry and scared. I may not be out of the woods. The law firm has not accepted my case yet although they represent a 29-year old girl, who is a vegetable, she admitted she took more Meridia than she should have. Her husband has to do everything for her and their young children. They are supposedly are suing for $25,000,000.

I also have done a lot of research but, have not been to a medical library and just simply don’t understand the serotonin connection. I am very intelligent and perceptive, and thanks to my intuition, I only took this KILLER drug for 2 months and was off of it for a week when I took the Augmentin. I had three 10 mg. pills left and took them but, as mentioned above, (not all three at once). I decided not to get the third refill. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

I may never be able to dance again (could out dance any 25 year old). And, I may never regain my good vision. I am really worried about these stress fractures. I am calling to order your book tomorrow so that I can understand the serotonin connection to these side effects.

Thank you so much for taking time to read this long email. You must be a very nice lady to care so much. Doctor, the FDA was warned by their own experts not to release this Meridia and it got on the market anyway. Knoll waged a major PR and exhaustive marketing program to fool the American people again. I consider these people criminals and I plan to expose them if it’s the last thing I ever do.

You have my permission to use me as an example and to write about me. I will consult with you and you can contact me anytime. I don’t want this to happen to others.

My sincere thanks for your time.
