My daughter was treated for anxiety with Zoloft around a year ago. However, her school reported alarming, violent behavior (she never had that before), and we stopped it after only a week. I always understood this to be an “adverse effect,” but a nurse today told me it was an allergy. An allergy means she should never take it again, but an adverse effect could be grown out of, and doesn’t rule out similar drugs. Was the nurse just dumbing things down, or was she correct?
SANTA CRUZ – After four days on the witness stand, accused murderer Marshall Doud stepped down Tuesday afternoon and his attorney rested his case.
Doud was the only defense witness to testify during the jury trial, which began Aug. 4 and could send the 43-year-old to state prison for the rest of his life. He is accused of allegedly smothering his wife, Morgana, 42, early on Sept. 4, 2007.
Chandler police said Carol Roby, 62, suffered a nervous breakdown after going off her Zoloft, an anti-depressant medication. Her family noticed her missing Saturday when she didn’t meet them for a 2 p.m. meeting. She also didn’t make an 8 a.m. work appointment, police said.
PORT CHESTER – Toxicology results on Chris Corna released this week do not change the Westchester medical examiner’s conclusion that the popular Colorado restaurateur’s death was a suicide, but police are not closing their investigation.
The car Chris Corna of Steamboat Springs was driving very early May 18 crashed into a bridge abutment after he slit his throat, the medical examiner said. A bloodied kitchen knife was found in the car. Either trauma was enough to kill him, Medical Examiner Millard Hyland said at that time.
