Pre-SSRI Cases
IMIPRAMINE IS A TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANT (TCA) MEANING IT TARGETS THREE NEUROTRANSMITTERS …THIS DRUG WAS THE FIRST ANTIDEPRESSANT INVENTED IN THE LATE 1950′S.
MANY DID NOT LIKE THE DRUG DUE TO THE HIGH RATE OF SIDE EFFECTS/ADVERSE REACTIONS.
MOST WHO TOOK THIS IN CLINICAL TRIALS OR STUDIES DROPPED OUT DUE TO THE SIDE EFFECTS. THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO EVEN GET TO THE POINT WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DEMONSTRATE THE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS!
Other Type of Medications
Zolpidem (Ambien)
Ritalin (methylphenidate) Schedule II controlled substance
