I am Ann Blake Tracy, author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare. Since early 1990 I have devoted every minute of my life to researching and writing about the SSRI antidepressant drugs. Since 1992 I have been testifying as an expert court witness on their adverse effects. I also head an international organization, the International Coalition for Drug Awareness, designed to educate the medical profession, patients, government authorities and others about these adverse effects and their impact upon our society. In the beginning I had NO idea the opposition I would face due to the massive amount of income produced by this group of drugs. But when you see the results I have, no one could ever stop working to save the lives of so many that are being needlessly lost.
SSRI antidepressants are the most similar drugs ever to the hallucinogen, PCP (Angel Dust), long known to produce indescribable violence. Yet PCP was once thought to be such a safe and effective prescription drug that it was on the market 7 years before pulling it at the insistence of law enforcement and judges who were tired of dealing with the violence produced by the drug. In fact scientists have even suggested that Ketamine (Special K) a sister drug to PCP is the perfect antidepressant with only one major drawback, hallucinations/psychosis.
SHERIFF RICHARD MACK AND THE ROLE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
In the early 2000’s law enforcement began to ask why violence for seemingly NO reason at all seemed to be appearing everywhere. And in February of 2004 Sheriff Richard Mack testified before the FDA on this same type of violence being produced as a result of these antidepressants. Sheriff Mack served as sheriff in my home town. We grew up together and have been lifelong friends. Sheriff Mack is the one who took the Brady Bill all the way to the Supreme Court to preserve our Second Amendment Rights and he has led the way in gathering sheriff’s to stand for our Constitutional rights against the Federal Government encroachments upon those rights. He heads the organization CSPOA – Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. While serving as sheriff in Graham Country Arizona he brought three of his best friends home in body bags after they committed suicide on antidepressants.
When Sheriff Mack gave his testimony to the FDA about the violence law enforcement is seeing as a result of antidepressants he ended his statement with:

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. ANTIDEPRESSANTS PRODUCE 86% OF DEADLY SLEEP DISORDER
LONG KNOWN TO INCLUDE BOTH MURDER AND SUICIDE
What the world remains unaware of is the fact is that 86% of those who are diagnosed with the most deadly sleep disorder known to man, the REM Sleep Disorder (RBD), are currently taking antidepressants. REM Sleep Disorder is a condition in which there is no paralysis during sleep thus allowing the patient to act out the dreams or nightmares they are having. Tragically 80% of those going into this sleep disorder hurt themselves or others including both murder and suicide as a result.
This is possibly the most deadly of all reactions one can have to antidepressants. But even more frightening is to learn that before the introduction of the SSRI antidepressants RBD was known mainly as a drug withdrawal effect. Thus the chances of going into this dangerous reaction should be expected to increase as one goes into withdrawal. This is why it is so important to avoid as much of the withdrawal effects as possible by tapering off the antidepressant very, very slowly. It is also important to note that I just testified before the Danish Parliament on the brain damage, endocrine damage and terrible long term withdrawal associated with antidepressants. Critical to understand is that the FDA has now issued warnings that ANY abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant (whether increasing or decreasing the dose) can produce suicide, hostility, and psychosis. The withdrawal MUST BE VERY VERY VERY GRADUAL IN ORDER TO AVOID THESE DEADLY EFFECTS!!!!
