The parents of the 20 children whose lives were taken on December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut at the Sand Hook Elementary School have formed a group called Sandy Hook Promise. They want to have open minded discussions about a range of issues including guns, mental health and safety in schools and other places. As one of the mothers, stated “I do not want there to be a next time.”
