JUST A COINCIDENCE?

I want those who have created & peddled these deadly drugs to have to look into the faces of all who have died as a result of using antidepressants. I have been asking “How many more?” & “How long will we tolerate this?” for over 20 years. I have grown very weary of asking! All for greed . . . evidence proves it was nothing more than greed . . . no more benefit than a sugar pill . . . with suicide & homicide listed side effects . . . the approval was bribed! Additional Tylenol Warnings: Now linked to SEVERE Asthma

NOTE FROM DR. ANN BLAKE TRACY (www.drugawareness.org):

YET ANOTHER TYLENOL WARNING! Long known toproduce fatal liver damage . . . how many warnings do we need to get the full picture on this deadly drug? There have been increasing warnings this past year which continues toexplain why Tylenol has NEVER been found in my medicine cabinet and never will be!!!

HIGHLIGHTS from the article below:

A pair of studies suggests that the common painkiller acetaminophen — better known as Tylenol in the U.S. — may be fueling a worldwide increase in asthma. ~Reuters Health

While no one knows if the drug causes asthma by itself, another report — published along with the first study — shows for the first time that many toddlers took acetaminophen before they developed asthma symptoms such as wheezing. [I am appauled by how often this deadly drug is given to young children!]

“We have confirmed that acetaminophen use comes first, SO A CAUSAL LINK IS INCREASINGLY LIKELY, [Emphasis added]” . . .

Acetaminophen tied tochildhood wheezing and allergies

4:15pm BST

By Frederik Joelving

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – A pair of studies suggests that the common painkiller acetaminophen — better known asTylenol in the U.S. — may be fueling a worldwide increase inasthma.

According to one study out Thursday, acetaminophen could be responsible for as many as four in 10 cases of wheezing and severe asthma in teens.

While no one knows if the drug causes asthma by itself, another report — published along with the first study — shows for the first time that many toddlers took acetaminophen before they developed asthma symptoms such as wheezing.

“We have confirmed that acetaminophen use comes first, so a causal link is increasingly likely,” said Dr. Alemayehu Amberbir, of Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and the University of Nottingham in the UK.

But large-scale clinical tests are necessary before anyone cleans out their medicine cabinet, stressed Amberbir, whose findings are published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

His team followed more than 1,000 Ethiopian babies over three years. When the toddlers turned one, the researchers asked the mothers if their babies had breathing problems, and how much acetaminophen they had used.

About eight percent of the kids began to wheeze between ages one and three. Those who had been given acetaminophen during their first year — before they had breathing trouble — had up to seven times the odds of developing wheezing.

That increase held even after adjusting for fever and coughs, which in principle could have triggered both the wheezing and the use of painkillers.

“What we have is further information and a stronger association between the use of acetaminophen and asthma,” said Dr. Dipak Kanabar, who has written guidelines on painkillers, but wasn’t involved in the new studies.

But Kanabar, a consultant pediatrician at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, cautioned that parents’ recall isn’t always accurate, which could have influenced the findings.

“We have to be careful when we give advice to parents tostress that these studies do not mean that giving acetaminophen will necessarily result in their child developingasthma,” he said.

But if the link turns out to be real, it could have a major impact on public health, according to another report in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

In that study, based on more than 320,000 teens from 50 countries, 11 percent of the children had breathing trouble — only slightly more than the percentage of American children who have asthma.

Those teens who took acetaminophen at least once a month — one third overall, and more than four in 10 Americans — doubled their odds of wheezing.

They were also more likely to have allergic nasal congestion and the skin condition eczema, Dr. Richard W. Beasley, of the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand, and colleagues report.

The researchers estimate that acetaminophen could potentially be responsible for up to four in 10 of all asthmasymptoms, including severe ones such as waking up gasping for air once a week or more.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary that sells Tylenol, said in a comment their product “has over 50 years of clinical history to support its safety and efficacy.”

“The well-documented safety profile for acetaminophen makes it the preferred pain reliever for asthma sufferers,” the company told Reuters Health in an e-mail. The company said there are no gold-standard clinical trials showing “a causal link between acetaminophen and asthma.”

However, Kanabar found in his review of the medical literature that ibuprofen — another painkiller, sometimes sold as Advil — seemed to trigger less wheezing than acetaminophen.

Ibuprofen, however, is not recommended in people withasthma, Kanabar said, and that most doctors favor Tylenol.

Aspirin, another common painkiller, is generally discouraged in children because it can cause short-term breathing problems and other rare side effects.

According to Kanabar, dropping painkillers entirely is probably a bad idea, and might cause a child to feel worse and drink less liquid, which could slow recovery.

So which painkiller should a parent choose if their child has a headache or a fever — Tylenol or ibuprofen?

At this point, said Kanabar, “you could go for either.”

ANTIDEPRESSANTS? Mental Health Worker Arrested in Serial Stabbings

NOTE FROM DR. ANN BLAKE TRACY (www.drugawareness.org):
Keep in mind that the LARGE majority of mental healthworkers take antidepressants. One psych nurse in the mid-west estimated 75% of the workers in her facility were on them.
And am I surprised about the news on this case?!!!! NOPE!!!! I was wondering about this one myself because it brought to mind a woman I worked with years ago who reported that even after coming off her meds (still in withdrawal) could not have a knife, even a butter knife or a pair of scissors, lying around where she would see them because the thought/compulsion to pick it up and stab one of her children was too great.
This young man’s background also reminds me of an awful case I had in Israel several years ago where another shy kid from Israel was given Paxil for “Social Anxiety.” A concerned family member here in the states sent a copy of my book to the family. His parents read my book and were very concerned about the information, but they thought he seemed to be improving (when  mania begins it SEEMS you are getting better because you become more assertive and outgoing), so they decided they would just watch him closely to keep him from having any serious reactions. But he got upin the middle of the night, went out and blew up an army jeep, and then began ranting about wanting to be a suicide bomber.
Police in Arlington, Va., stopped him for a traffic offense

Aug. 5 and arrested him on a 2008 misdemeanor assault charge from Leesburg, Va., where he had lived and worked in the mentalhealth field. A hammer and a knife were found inside the Chevrolet Blazer, which was returned to him after his brief detention. There was no national alert for Abuelazam or his vehicle.”

Police: Israeli man also suspect in Israel attack

By DIAA HADID, Associated Press Writer Diaa Hadid, Associated Press Writer – 45 mins ago

RAMLE, Israel – Israeli police said Friday the suspect instabbings in three states also was a suspect in a separate stabbing attack in Israel earlier this year, but charges were never pressed.

A senior police commander said Elias Abuelazam was believed to have stabbed a close acquaintance during an argument in a parked car in central Israel about six months ago. The commander said police dropped the case because the victim refused to cooperate with investigators.

The commander spoke on condition of anonymity because he was barred from speaking to the media under official policy.

Abuelazam is suspected of attacking people in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia, leaving five people dead and 13 wounded. He was arrested Wednesday in Atlanta as he prepared to board a flight to his native Israel.

The 33-year-old man appeared in an Atlanta courtroom on Friday, agreeing during a brief hearing to return to Michigan to face charges in one of the attacks  an attempted murder in a July 27 knife strike in Flint, Mich., that put the victim in a hospital for a week. Authorities said more charges were expected in the three states.

Abuelazam, who was expressionless as he responded to questions from Judge Richard Hicks, first told Hicks he wanted to stay in Georgia and face the charges. But Hicks told him he would have to return to Michigan if he wanted to fight them.

After Hicks explained the process further, Abuelazam agreed to waive an extradition fight, a process that could take months, and go back to Michigan.

“All right, then I’ll do so,” he said. “It sounds more logical to go right now than in 90 days.”

But moments after the hearing ended, Abuelazam’s attorney called Fulton County Superior Court to request another hearing. Hicks appeared in the courtroom later Friday and said Abuelazam had waived extradition.

In Ramle, a hardscrabble Israeli town southeast of Tel Aviv with a mixed Jewish-Arab population, residents in the Arab neighborhood where Abuelazam grew up expressed shock that the shy son of a respected family could be a suspect insuch a gruesome crime spree.

“I wouldn’t believe it even if I saw it with my own eyes,” said Abuelazam’s cousin, also named Elias Abuelazam. He said the news had devastated the suspect’s mother. “I was there last night. She couldn’t stand up. She took medicine to reduce her blood pressure. She was hysterical.”

But the senior Israeli police official said Abuelazam was believed to be the attacker in the car stabbing months ago. The official said he and the close acquaintance got into an argument and Abuelazam pulled out a screwdriver and stabbed the other man in the face.

The official said Ramle police investigated, but because the victim refused to press charges, authorities could not arrest Abuelazam.

Ramle’s 3,000-member Arab Christian community is extremely tight knit, and residents were extremely cautious about discussing Abuelazam’s past.

The Flint stabbings started in May, shortly after Abuelazam is believed to have returned to the U.S. from Israel, with the attacker approaching men on lonely roads at night and asking for directions or help with a broken-down car. Then he would pull out a knife, plunge it into his victim and speed away.

A tip  one of more than 500  led police this week to a market inMount Morris Township, outside Flint, where Abuelazam had worked for a month. Investigators talked to employees, and a store video showed that he matched the description of the man wanted by authorities.

Abuelazam, however, was gone: He told people he was off to Virginia and hadn’t been seen since his Aug. 1 shift.

Police in Arlington, Va., stopped him for a traffic offense Aug. 5 and arrested him on a 2008 misdemeanor assault charge from Leesburg, Va., where he had lived and worked in thementalhealth field. A hammer and a knife were found inside the Chevrolet Blazer, which was returned to him after his brief detention. There was no national alert for Abuelazam or his vehicle.

Virginia authorities “had no idea at that time that he was involved in these crimes,” Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton in Michigan said.

Abuelazam eventually returned to Michigan, obtained a $3,000 ticket to Tel Aviv from his uncle and made it as far as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where officers snatched the man in flip-flops and shorts after he was paged over the intercom.

The youngest victim was 15; the oldest 67. At least 15 victims were black, although there’s no evidence that race played a role, Leyton said. A motive was not known.

Abuelazam is charged with attacking Antwione Marshall of Flint, who said he was going into his apartment building two weeks ago when an assailant approached and asked for help with his car. Three of his organs were cut, and he has a long scar from his chest to his pelvic area.

Marshall, 26, said he wants to retaliate but “I’ll let God handle it. Every time I look at my scar, I get angry.”

Killed were David Motley, 31, Emmanuel A. Muhammad, 59, Darwin Marshall, 43, and Arnold R. Minor, 49, all of Flint, and Frank Kellybrew, 60, of Flint Township. They died before Aug. 4, when authorities concluded the attacks were the work of aserial killer.

Even if the assaults are over, at least some fear remains inFlint, the battered industrial city 14 of the stabbings, including all five deaths, occurred.

“It makes you not want to give anybody a hand with a vehicle if it breaks down,” Aldridge Gardner, 46, said as he waited for a bus. “If it was a female, I would help her. If it was a guy, no, I’d be skeptical.”

Understanding Paxil Birth Defects

Ann Blake-Tracy says:

Your comment is awaiting moderation.

After two decades of tracking mothers and babies exposed to SSRI
antidepressants during pregnancy I shutter to ever see a mother take one of
these drugs. If those adverse effects listed in this article are not bad enough
to consider exposing a baby to, we have yet to witness the full effects of these
drugs upon offspring. These babies brains will not be fully developed until they
are in their 20’s. The full negative effects upon that developing brain will not
be known until then. Knowing what I know after 20 years of researching these
drugs and tracking patients who have taken them, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE WHAT IS
COMING!!

Understanding Paxil Birth Defects

In December 2005, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) posted its Paxil findings on its
website regarding pregnant women taking antidepressants. In this announcement,
GSK noted that it was revising its pregnancy precaution category from C to D.
This revision was based on recent studies that indicated positive evidence of
human fetal risk. In addition, GSK was placing this information in the WARNINGS
section of the Paxil label.
The FDA then advised pregnant women to switch from Paxil to another SSRI
drug, such as Prozac or Zoloft. This warning was based on the results of an
analysis of Sweden’s birth registry that showed women who took Paxil were 1.5 to
2 times more likely to give birth to a baby with heart defects than women who
took other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or no antidepressant
at all.
Studies also showed that complications were reported for babies born to
mothers who had taken antidepressants such as Paxil in the third month of
pregnancy. Such complications included breathing difficulties, turning blue,
seizures, changing body temperature, feeding problems, vomiting, low blood
sugar, stiffness, tremor, irritability or constant crying. In other words, just
like adults, newborn babies of mothers who have taken Paxil while pregnant,
experience similar withdrawal symptoms. Because of this, tube feeding, help with
breathing and longer hospitalization may be needed. Premature births in pregnant
women exposed to SSRIs such as Paxil have also been reported.
Based on such reports obstetricians went so far as to recommend that
women avoid Paxil and reconsider using any SSRI antidepressant during pregnancy.
Still, other physicians maintain that the benefits of mothers getting treatment
for their depression outweigh the risks to the fetus.
The most common birth defects caused by antidepressants have been found
to be holes or other malformations in the chambers of the heart. Often the

defects heal on their own, but more severe cases need surgical procedures. GSK
is investigating how Paxil could be causing such defects.
In addition, antidepressant drugs are known to imbalance blood sugar
metabolism thereby worsening gestational diabetes. However, it is doubtful that
this is explained to expectant mothers who are given such drugs.
Medical professionals in women’s mental health point out that it is
important to aptly gauge the timing of medications prescribed for women who are
pregnant. Paxil is currently one of the most popular antidepressants in the
world, and roughly 25 percent of its users are women of childbearing age —
between 18 and 45.

Medical examiner confirms death of 9-yr-old Colony, TX boy was

NOTE FROM Ann Blake-Tracy (www.drugawareness.org):

This suicide is much too similar to little Gabriel Myers’ (7) suicide
in Florida last year – while in the custody of CPS! He too was on
similar medications when he impulsively hung himself with a shower
hose in the bathroom.

Both types of medications have an FDA black box warning for suicide
for this age group. WHY?!!! Want to talk about him being exposed to
something toxic? This is it! Why as a society do we allow this to
continue?!!! Why is it okay for doctors to give patients drugs that
could cause suicide?

Here is the warning given for Strattera which is prescribed for ADHD.
[And a similar warning was given to all antidepressant and mood
stablizing medications (which Montana was also taking).]

9/05 From Web MD: “The FDA is advising health care providers and
caregivers that children and adolescents being treated with Strattera
should be closely monitored for worsening of symptoms as well as
agitation, irritability, SUICIDAL THINKING OR BEHAVIORS, and unusual
changes in behavior, especially during the initial few months of
therapy or when the dose is changed (either increased or decreased).”

“THIS MONITORING SHOULD INCLUDE DAILY OBSERVATION BY FAMILIES AND
CAREGIVERS AND FREQUENT CONTACT WITH THE PHYSICIAN, says the FDA.”
[Emphasis added]

What kind of close monitoring is this when he hangs himself in a
nurses office?! Why did none of the professionals working with Montana
withdraw him from the medications which had been producing these
suicidal thoughts for some time BEFORE he lost his life? I see these
FAR TOO OFTEN and the children are getting younger and younger as
those who should be caring for them ignore these strong FDA warnings
that are the next closest thing there is to banning a group of drugs!

Medical examiner confirms death of 9-year-old Colony boy was suicide

11:13 PM CST on Thursday, February 18, 2010

By WENDY HUNDLEY/The Dallas Morning News
whundley@dallasnews.com

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled Thursday that a
9-year-old boy from The Colony committed suicide.

Montana Lance

The determination rules out speculation that Montana Lance’s death was
an accident.

Montana was found hanging in a bathroom at Stewart’s Creek Elementary
School around 1 p.m. Jan. 21. He was taken to Baylor Medical Center at
Carrollton, where he was pronounced dead.

Lt. Darren Brockway of The Colony police said the medical examiner’s
ruling is consistent with police conclusions about the death.

“He’d gotten in trouble at school and panicked,” Brockway said. “He
just felt there was no other way out.”

There had been speculation that Montana watched a television show
about teen suicide the night before his death and was copying what he
saw with no real intention to kill himself.

“We ruled that out as an option after talking to his parents,”
Brockway said. “He didn’t watch that show.”

Still, experts say children as young as Montana may not fully
comprehend the consequences of their actions. A suicidal act may be a
spur-of-the-moment act, like an outburst or a tantrum, they say.

“It was more of a conscious decision he made in a moment of high
anxiety,” Brockway said.

A spokesman for the Lance family could not be reached for comment
Thursday. A police report says Montana’s father had insisted the death
was accidental.

Brockway said Montana had been upset on the day of his death after he
was sent to the office for misbehaving in class. He locked himself in
the school nurse’s restroom and didn’t come out.

After about 10 minutes, the nurse got a key to open the door and found
the child unconscious.

Montana had attached the buckle of a brown cloth belt to a hook of a
device used to help disabled people use the restroom, according to a
police report. He was found with the belt around his neck with his
feet off the floor. Police found no notes or messages.

He had been taking medication for mood swings and for attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder, and had been having suicidal thoughts
for about two years, the police report states.

In 2007, Montana’s parents, Jason and Debbie Lance, sought treatment
for their son for ADHD.

In 2008, they told the doctor that the boy had been talking about
committing suicide, and he was referred to a psychiatrist, according
to the police report.

After Montana’s death, Child Protective Services opened an
investigation to determine whether abuse or neglect were contributing
factors.

That investigation has not been completed, but the family’s other two
children have not been removed from the home, CPS spokeswoman Marissa
Gonzales said.

Gonzales said CPS has had no prior involvement with the Lances and
routinely investigates child fatalities.

With the medical examiner’s ruling, police plan to close their
investigation with no charges filed, Brockway said.

DO NOT MISS RADIO SHOW TONIGHT!!re-scheduling you for next Monday night! Eli Lilly Exec & Ann Blake-Tracy

SORRY ABOUT THE DELAY IN LETTING YOU KNOW WHAT I FOUND OUT JUST BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSE TO GO ON THE AIR TONIGHT. I HAD SEVERAL EMERGENCIES TO DEAL WITH AND COULD NOT GET THIS OUT SOONER. HERE IS THE URGENT NOTE I GOT FROM JEFF RENSE ABOUT TONIGHT’S SHOW:

The BLIZZARD in the East has knocked out the network phone lines in PA!

I have to run an encore program tonight…can’t do anything live because
all the lines to the network are down.  ugh.

I’m re-scheduling you for next Monday night, 8-9pm Pacific…that’s the
Middle Hour of the program.

Dr. John Virapen and I have been doing shows together. We have
been so busy getting things set up that I have not yet had a chance to share the
news and introduce you to him.

Who is Dr. John Virapen? (See below for more detail.)
While general manager of the Swedish division of Eli
Lilly John BOUGHT the approval for Prozac in Sweden – yes, he bribed the
doctor responsible for making the decision to allow it on the market. Luckily
another doctor stopped that, but there was enough damage done that Lilly was
able to use what they bought to encourage other countries to approve this DEADLY
drug and pave the way for all of the Prozac clones that followed. He is now
doing all in his power to get the truth to the world about the criminal
practices of these companies and the dangers of these drugs and he wants
compensation for the victims. HE DOES NOT MINCE WORDS!
Together we hope to wake up America and then the world up to
this drug-induced nightmare!!!

  • you shouldn’t blindly trust your doctor or what the Pharma Companies tell
    you.

Did you know that…

  • pharmaceutical companies invest the considerable amount of 35,000 Euro per
year and physician to get the physicians to prescribe their products?
  • more than 75 percent of leading scientists in the field of medicine are
paid for by the pharmaceutical industry?
  • in some cases corruption prevailed in the approval and marketing of drugs?
  • illnesses are made up by the pharmaceutical industry and specifically
marketed to enhance sales and market shares for the companies in question?
  • pharmaceutical companies increasingly target children?

Ann Blake-Tracy’s December 13, 2006 to the FDA

Ann Blake-Tracy, head of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness, author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? & Our Serotonin Nightmare. For 15 years I have testified in court cases involving antidepressants. The last 17 years of my life have been devoted to researching, writing, and lecturing about these drugs.

Two of my nieces in their early 20’s, a decade apart, attempted suicide on antidepressants, the first on Prozac, the second just a month ago on Wellbutrin.

Due to time constraints I refer you to my September, 2004 testimony on the damaging effects of inhibiting serotonin metabolism – the very mode of action of antidepressants. Impairing serotonin metabolism results in a multitude of symptoms including suicide, violent crime, mania and psychosis. Suicidal ideation is, without question, associated with these drugs.

Rosie Meysenburg, Sara Bostock and I have collected and posted 1200 [now 3000] news articles documenting many exaggerated acts of violence against self or others at www.drugawareness.org with a direct link to www.ssristories.drugawareness.org

Beyond suicidal ideation we have mania/bipolar increasing dramatically. Antidepressants have always been known to trigger both.

According to the Pharmaceutical Business Review in the last 11 years alone, the number of people in the U.S. with “bipolar” disorder has increased by 4.8 million. [a 4000% increase]

Dr. Malcolm Bowers of Yale, found in the late 90’s over 200,000 people yearly are hospitalized with antidepressant-induced manic psychosis. They also point out that most go unrecognized as medication-induced, remain un hospitalized, and a threat to themselves and others.

What types of threats from manias?

Pyromania: A compulsion to start fires

Kleptomania: A compulsion to embezzle, shoplift, commit robberies

Dipsomania: An uncontrollable urge to drink alcohol

Nymphomania and erotomania: Sexual compulsions – a pathologic preoccupation with sexual fantasies or activities

Child sex abuse has increased dramatically with even female teachers going manic on these drugs and seducing students. The head of the sex abuse treatment program for Utah estimated 80% of sex crime perpetrators were on antidepressants at the time of the crime. While Karl Von Kleist, an ex-LAPD officer and leading polygraph expert estimated 90% – strong evidence of manic sexual compulsions that demand attention.

Diabetes has skyrocketed, has been linked to antidepressants, and blood sugar imbalances have long been suspected as the cause of mania or bipolar. Anyone who has witnessed someone in insulin shock would see the striking similarity to a violent reaction to an antidepressant.

If there has been any increase in suicide since the black box warning it is due to doctors not knowing how to get patients off these drugs safely.

Clearly far too many lives are being destroyed in various ways by these drugs.

WARNING: In sharing this information about adverse reactions to antidepressants I always recommend that you also give reference to my CD on safe withdrawal, Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!, so that we do not have more people dropping off these drugs too quickly – a move which I have warned from the beginning can be even more dangerous than staying on the drugs!

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. And these reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid! You can find the CD on safe and effective withdrawal helps here: http://store.drugawareness.org/

ANTIDEPRESSANTS: Murder-Suicide: Woman Kills Husband, 2 Year Old Son

How sickening that this horrific antidepressant-induced murder/suicide could happen right in the same city where a jury found eight years ago that ONLY TWO PILLS of the antidepressant Paxil were the main cause for Donald Schell to shoot his wife, daughter, infant granddaughter and then himself!

WHY DID THE LOCAL MEDIA ALLOW THE TRAGIC WARNING BY THE SCHELL FAMILY (AT THE COST OF SO MUCH INNOCENT BLOOD) TO LEAVE THE PUBLIC EYE LONG ENOUGH FOR ANOTHER SIMILAR TRAGEDY TO HAPPEN??????!!!!!!!!!! HOW LONG DO WE ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN AND DO NOTHING?! WHERE IS THE MEDIA RESPONSIBILITY TO WARN THE PUBLIC?! IS IT BURIED UNDER THEIR LARGE ADVERTISING ACCOUNTS FROM PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES?!

Sorry to shout, but people are dying horrible deaths and no one seems to care. After 20 years of witnessing so many senseless deaths you start shouting. PLEASE encourage your local media to warn of this possibility with these drugs. If they need more information have them contact me.

Some of the many prescription meds in Joy Hofer’s system were prescribed, some weren’t, surmised the coroner.

CHEYENNE – A woman who authorities say shot her husband and killed her 2-year-old son had a cocktail of prescription drugs in her system when she took her own life on July 24.

On Wednesday, the Laramie County Coroner’s Office released results from the autopsy performed on 31-year-old Joy M. Hofer.

In a toxicology test, forensic pathologist Dr. Patrick Allen found opiates, tranquilizers, anti-depressants and pain killers in the woman, according to the autopsy report.

Some of those drugs were in her blood at levels ranging from twice to potentially 1,200 times the therapeutic level, the report shows.

Laramie County Coroner Marty Luna said there were “high amounts of opiates and morphine” in her system.

“She should have been shut down,” he said. “I don’t know how she functioned.”

Luna said the woman did have some anti-depressants that were prescribed, and that she had a history of such medication.

“There’s no prescription for the (opiates and morphine),” Luna said Wednesday. “You can surmise she got it from other sources.”

Her husband, Kelly J. Hofer, 28, and son Gunnar Hofer, 2, were both found July 25 in at the family’s residence in the 4700 block of Hickory Place. Autopsies indicated Joy M. Hofer killed them.

Kelly Hofer died from a gunshot wound to the back of his head; Gunnar Hofer died from suffocation and strangulation, according to autopsies.

Luna has said evidence suggested Kelly Hofer died first, and that he and Gunnar died July 24.

Bruises were found on the child’s neck and face as well as lidocaine, an anesthetic or numbing agent, in his blood stream, an autopsy report shows.

The autopsy report for Joy M. Hofer said she suffered a gunshot to the right side of her head.

Cheyenne Police Detective Cathleen Trujillo said Wednesday that she is awaiting test results for gunshot residue kits and fingerprints from the state crime laboratory.

“When I have those, I’ll finish the report,” she said.

Luna said he is continuing an investigation into why this all happened.

“If I can get close to answering that question, then I want to do that,” he said
