ANTIDEPRESSANTS – How We Are All Adversely Affected

me in front of hearse

AUGUST 22, MY MOTHER’S BURIAL

I am going to share a couple of experiences in my life today to help you to see how incredibly widespread the nightmare of these antidepressants really is.

This is a picture of me walking past the hearse today to dedicate my mother’s grave as her final resting place. The look on my face is not from anything to do with burying my mother, instead it is shock from seeing the grave next to the hearse just a few graves away from my parent’s graves.

Let me explain why…

The name on the grave with a picture on the headstone was William Farar and this was the first time I had ever seen a picture of Bill. Several of his family are friends of mine here on Facebook because Bill Farar was one of the first of many SSRI-induced suicides in my hometown. I worked with his family to help them to understand that what had taken his life was NOT suicide, but instead a reaction to his antidepressant.

I had also just spoken at my mother’s funeral where each of us children shared the most important things about our mother. Other than her incredible example of caring for all people was that while on a college tour of Mexico she had recruited Dr. Larry Porter, originally from northern Mexico, to help translate for her as they went to visit my infant son who was waiting with a family there for us to finish his adoption. Dr. Porter became convinced that Mexico would never allow my son to leave the country so he began to look at other options unbeknownst to me.

A month or two later he contracted pneumonia and was hospitalized when a 15 year old girl walked into the hospital in labor and said she wanted to give her child up for adoption.. Dr. Porter’s daughter was a nurse there and immediately ran to tell her father about the baby. Dr. Porter got out of his hospital bed and ran to the front of the hospital to say he knew a couple who desperately wanted a baby and would adopt the child.

Because my mother did not want me to go through the pain and anguish once again of getting my hopes up for a baby and then not being able to complete the adoption, she brought the baby home and kept her for the three day waiting period Arizona has for a legal release for adoption. She then called me to have me guess what she had waiting for me in my little brother’s room! I flew down to bring my new baby daughter home and three weeks later Senator Jake Garn was able to assist us with finalization of my son’s adoption. So within three weeks I had two babies a year and a half apart! Yikes!

That was in 1980. Fast forward another 13 years and Dr. Larry Porter had moved to Provo, Utah where he had established his practice. One day I got a call from one of his patients wanting help. He said he thought he was having serious adverse reactions to Prozac because as a guard at the prison he was not only having thoughts, but actually making plans to kill everyone on death row. He found these thoughts and plans alarming enough to ask for help because he thought those thoughts were coming from his Prozac. So I helped him as he weaned of Prozac and the thoughts and plans disappeared along with his Prozac.

But what had made him realize it was Prozac causing this was his own doctor, who had told him he too was on Prozac. Yet his doctor had just shot his wife and and himself in a murder/suicide. That doctor was Dr. Larry Porter who had helped me to adopt my daughter! This was COMPLETELY out of character for Dr. Porter! His patient knew it, I knew it, and Dr. Porter’s family knew it. They believed someone must have come into the home and murdered both of them. But the police investigation concluded that it was a murder/suicide. I was then able to work with Dr. Porter’s son to help the family understand how this could have happened.

So I share this with you to let you know that even in laying my mother to rest I am surrounded by SSRI nightmares as all of us are if we but look. I am aware of this only because I see these nightmares where others remain blind to them. I encourage you all to look around you and become aware of what is happening in your own circle of family, friends and neighbors.

Robin Williams: What No One Is Willing to Talk About (But us!)

Robin Williams – What No One Is Willing to Talk About

This is an excellent video I would encourage everyone to watch! I am sorry I did not get it out days ago, but with the death of my own mother following Robin Williams death by only three days, I am a little behind schedule.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiUeOLfV5z8

The following is my posted comment on this video:

“Excellent presentation of the data! I say that after 25 years of specializing in antidepressant adverse reactions, testifying in court cases involving the drugs, writing a large text on these drugs, Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare, and gathering approximately 5000 cases (including most all of the school shootings and mass shootings) documented as involving antidepressants found at www.ssristories.net

“The hypothesis behind these drugs is backwards. Serotonin is NOT low in depression, but elevated and I can prove that via expert witness testimony by drug company experts themselves. Antidepressants not only cause suicide, they cause murder as well and yes that is documented in court testimony as well (check Tobin vs Glaxo Smith Kline). They often produce this by triggering REM Sleep Disorder (RBD), where you act out nightmares and well known for the potential to produce both murder and suicide. Shockingly 86% of those being diagnosed with this disorder are currently on an antidepressant. Since RBD was known in the past as mainly a drug withdrawal state we should have far stronger warnings about antidepressant withdrawal! Thank you for this!

“And as for why no one wants to talk about this….when I did the Leeza Gibbons Show in 1999, just two years after drug companies were allowed to begin advertising their prescription drugs, they made that answer very clear. As we stepped on the stage to discuss the alarming number of mothers killing their children while on antidepressants we were told we could use the word “antidepressant” but we could not use the brand names of the drugs “because of our advertisers.” If the advertisers are the ones deciding what you can and cannot hear and the main advertisers are drug companies do you really think you will hear this on mainstream media?”

PROZAC: Police Release Findings in Sparks NV School Shooting

Jose Reyes

12 Year Old Jose Reyes,

Sparks Middle School Shooter – 3 Days on Prozac

Thanks to our Washington Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness for bringing this information to us. If you will watch the video posted below, Why I Took a Gun to School, you will meet Jay and his son and see why this is such a big issue for Jay.

The Sparks Nevada student, Jose Reyes, was only 12 when he shot and killed a teacher, Michael Landsberry, who was attempting to stop the shooting, and wounded two other students before killing himself. He had been placed on generic Prozac only three days earlier and wrote two suicide notes.

Think that is not enough of one of these drugs to cause a murder/suicide? Then you need to read the transcripts of the Tobin vs Glaxo case in Cheyenne, WY where Donald Schell took only two pills of the antidepressant Paxil before rising early the morning after the second pill to shoot his wife, visiting daughter and baby granddaughter, before shooting himself. After hearing all the evidence with the majority of it coming from Glaxo’s expert witness, Dr. John Mann, the jury ruled that the two pills of Paxil were the main cause of this tragedy and awarded $6.4 Million to the family for that.

I encourage you to listen to the only school shooter who has survived to tell his story before a camera. See the second link below to watch his video “Why I Took a Gun to School” from the Gary Null movie The Drugging of Our Children.

Safer Alternative: Bird Droppings vs Antidepressants

bird man

Judge Orders Man to Get Rid of Birds

Here is something to give you a chuckle in the middle of all these horrific antidepressant-induced tragedies…

While in Salt Lake City lecturing I read this article in the news today …. it is about a poor elderly immigrant who loves pigeons and spends his time caring for them. Well one of the SLC suburbs of South Jordan wants him to get rid of his birds he has had in his backyard for years. Most all of the comments are supportive of the man and his rights and upset with the city for doing something like this to him. But one comment was something I HAD to respond to so here it is – his first and then mine …. hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! 🙂 (See the original story link below)

“So if he was harboring 300 rats we should leave him alone? I think everyone who is whining about how mean the world is to this guy should do a little research. Just for fun, Google the words “Pigeon, health, and hazards” all on the same line. Did you know that the EPA, yup our liberal EPA, says that you can kill as many pigeons as you want? They are considered a “bird pest” and for good reasons all having to do with DISEASE.they are basically rats with wings. I hate to sound harsh but these are the facts. Honestly if I was in charge of a city, I would ban any private ownership of pigeons because their populations can get out of control in a hurry. I have been on jobs where we had to remove years of pigeon droppings from rooftops. It’s basically a hazmat situation where protective clothing and respirators are required. When pigeon droppings dry out they become airborne and can cause serious respiratory disease. I highly recommend the city not level their roosting place. They need to exterminate the population prior. Leave the buildings and get rid of the birds.”

MY RESPONSE: “Hazmat situation?! When anything dries out and becomes airborne it turns to dust that can cause respiratory disease. Dust does that.

“They call out hazmat teams to clean up hydrochloric acid spills(yes the same muriatic acid that is used to clean toilets and cement spills), yet people in the Salt Lake Valley voluntarily consume more of that daily than anywhere else in the world in the form of an antidepressant. (Example: fluoxetine hydrocloride [Prozac], sertraline hydrocloride [Zoloft], etc.) I would be far more concerned about these highly toxic chemicals than I would pigeon droppings!

“Now there is a solution! The City of South Jordan could check with a large pharmaceutical firm to see if they could come up with a new drug promoted to be the next new “cure all” that has pigeon droppings as an ingredient since people seem so willing to put anything in their mouths as long as the marketing tells them it is good for them. Then everyone could see value in the pigeons since sadly money seems to be our society’s mode of determining value now. They could all make money on the situation and walk away happy campers. Not so sure the patients will be such happy campers, but pigeon droppings sound safer than what they already take!”

25 Years After Wesbecker’s Rampage Another Prozac Tragedy in Louisville, KY

Maddie Yates

Maddie Yates, Teen’s Prozac-induced suicide

Yet another Louisville antidepressant-induced tragedy but certainly not the only one over the past 25 years. How very sad and tragic that they continue this many years later … Maddie Yates, a teen in Louisville, KY has committed suicide on Prozac after posting online that she was going to do so. Louisville, KY, of all places – right where Joseph Wesbecker, on Prozac, went on the 1989 big shooting spree at the printing company where he worked in Louisville, KY thus blowing open the controversy about Prozac and violence.

From my book Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare, we read about this case: “On September 14, 1989, Joseph Wesbecker blew the lid off the Pandora’s box unveiling one of the most terrible of the paradoxical reactions to Prozac when he walked into his former place of employment, Louisville, Kentucky’s Standard Gravure Corp., took the elevator to the third floor, and as the elevator doors opened, started firing with an AK-47 semiautomatic assault rifle. In what authorities called a ‘blood bath you don’t get over,’ Wesbecker took eight lives and wounded twelve others before taking his own life.”

When the makers of Prozac were sued by the surviving family members of those who lost their lives along with some of the survivors of the shooting spree we were not told, but later learned, the case was a set up to make Prozac appear completely safe and not the instigator of this blood bath. Apparently it worked well in Louisville, KY with few hearing that Judge John Potter was brave enough to spend the next two years proving this case in his courtroom was settled by Lilly in the middle of the trial and then allowed to go to a not guilty verdict. Why? So that Lilly could go on national television bragging that Prozac had been found to be safe and not the cause of this tragic violence.

No one ever knew just how much was paid out on the case, but in one instance Judge Potter found indication of one survivor getting about $50 Million. We do know that it has been reported that during the decade that Mitch Daniels, now the head of Purdue where we recently had another bizarre case of a violent murder by a young man suffering depression, headed Eli Lilly there was a total of ONE BILLION paid out to keep all this controversy about Prozac and violence and suicide quiet.

So here is yet another tragic and senseless death as a result of that silence TWENTY-FIVE years later!!! Although reported as a suicide I say this was NOT suicide! This was murder, premeditated murder! And I will explain why it qualifies as such….

Who is responsible for Maddie’s death and why do I call it a “premeditated” murder?

#1 Eli Lilly, the makers of Prozac, who were told by their own scientists BEFORE Prozac went on the market that the drug itself was actually CAUSING suicide and chose to ignore those warnings and instead chose to blame the suicides on the patient’s “underlying disorder.”

#2 The FDA for issuing the strongest warning possible for increased suicidal ideation for anyone under the age of 25 who takes ANY antidepressant they have ever approved and ANY antidepressant they approve in the future except for Prozac which works like all the rest of them.

#3 The doctor who was stupid enough to give a child this drug when it is in the same family of drugs as all the others with Black Box Warnings for suicide. What is wrong with reading just a little research when a life is at stake – especially a life like Maddie’s that had only just begun?

Everything Maddie lists as her reasons for her death are all commonly reported side effects of antidepressants – the feeling like you are evil or have something evil inside you, cursing and saying hurtful things you do not even remember saying and certainly do not mean to say, and seeing no hope of ever getting better since these drugs only make depression worse, instead of better, because the hypothesis behind the drugs is backwards. Serotonin is NOT low in depression, but elevated. What is low is a person’s ability to metabolize serotonin – exactly what antidepressants are designed to do thus leading to long term worsening of depression.

I repeat, this was premeditated murder and it needs to stop!

I am so sick and tired of seeing these! For 25 years I have spent every penny I had trying to stop it, to get the truth out before more die, but the almighty $$$$ is far too important to those responsible not only for the death of Maddie Yates, but far too many others! How many more are we going to allow them to kill? Yes, I said “allow” because we are condoning these deaths by allowing these drugs to remain on the market and to continue their ridiculous advertising of them.

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. These reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid!

Louisville Male High School in Louisville, Ky., is mourning the death of student Maddie Yates, who committed suicide after posting a heartbreaking video explaining her decision to YouTube.

Jefferson County Public Schools temporarily shut down student access to Twitter and YouTube after learning of Yates’ passing and the video she made.

She was planning to participate in a fundraising walk to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention in memory of her friend, Brianna Berrier, who also committed suicide almost exactly one year before Yates’ passing.

Yates and two friends visited Berrier’s grave on April 12, the anniversary of her death, just days before Yates took her own life.

By her social media activities, Yates seemed a bright, happy youth, posting smiling pictures with friends and maintaining a makeup channel on YouTube.

In the above video, she encourages kids to be accepting of others and preaches the importance of staying strong and optimistic.

These videos exist in stark contrast to Yates’ final video, simply entitled “Important,” where she speaks emotionally of her love for others and declares herself “not a good person.”

A still from the final video.

The video is a heart-shattering look into her struggle with depression and anxiety. On her decision to commit suicide, she said, “I just don’t see how this is a bad idea,” and described it as the difference between deciding to jump from a burning building or staying in it and dying “a slow, excruciating death.”

“I’ve been like this for so long,” she said, “and there’s still a chance that the worst day might be coming.”

Yates was a writer, some of her work and biographies hint at her struggles.

In a poem posted to her Teen Ink page called “Falling Asleep,” she envisions herself as a “cold dead body.”

Study: Tumeric More Effective in Treating Depression Than Prozac, Etc.

Study: Turmeric more Effective than Prozac at Treating Depression

For those who may have missed this…from the article below we read:

A recent study published in Phytotherapy Research says that not only is turmeric effective at treating depression, it may even be more effective than some of the most common anti-depressant drugs currently on the market.

Antidepressants Do NOT Work!

First of all let me point out that the statement quoted above is not completely correct because antidepressants are NOT effective in treating depression contrary to what you hear every evening in television ads. The drugs may give an initial feeling of making a patient think they are feeling better because they work like an anesthetic. When you are feeling nothing of course the feelings of depression, anxiety, etc. stop but you can also lose all the good feelings as well. In fact many patients come off these drugs because they can no longer feel. So, when you consider that information combined with the following facts:

– serotonin has long been known to be ELEVATED rather than low in depression

– serotonin metabolism is what is low in depression and antidepressants inhibit the metabolism of serotonin thus worsening depression

– studies demonstrate the worsening of depression and anxiety after using an antidepressant long term

– the fact that those with anxiety have been found to have serotonin levels EIGHT TIMES HIGHER than normal so clearly elevating those levels with an antidepressant is NOT a good thing

– depression and stress can be detected medically via elevated levels of cortisol, yet one single 30mg dose of Prozac was shown in an early study done by the manufacturer themselves to clearly DOUBLE the level of cortisol!

– the only apparent “beneficial” effects from antidepressants seems to be the stimulant effect they provide as they test out in the blood as amphetamine which explains why patients so often end up with a Bipolar or manic reaction to these drugs

(for supporting scientific research on these statements refer to my book Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare at www.drugawareness.org)

… (so with all of that is taken into consideration) it would appear that this study would demonstrate that tumeric is far more superior in treating depression than any antidepressant ever approved by the FDA.

With this information in mind I invite you to read the information below on the results of this study on tumeric.

But before deciding to make any changes in dose of an antidepressant please see the warnings below and links to withdrawal helps because any abrupt change in dose can cause deadly results if you and/or your doctor do not know what you are doing!!!

Study: Turmeric more Effective than Prozac at Treating Depression

by Elizabeth Renter
July 24th, 2013

It’s common knowledge in the natural health world that pharmaceuticals often (if not always) do more harm than good. It’s also clear that foods, herbs, and other natural sources can offer similar benefits without those nasty side effects. Once again, our beliefs have been affirmed by science: A recent study published in Phytotherapy Research says that not only is turmeric effective at treating depression, it may even be more effective than some of the most common anti-depressant drugs currently on the market.

While previous studies have indicated the effectiveness of turmeric (curcumin) in treating serious depression, this study was the first randomized controlled clinical trial of its kind.

Researchers with the Department of Pharmacology of Government Medical College in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India compared the effects of turmeric and Prozac (fluoxetine), both used together and individually, in 60 patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).

According to GreenMedInfo.com, the researchers used the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale to measure their results:

“We observed that curcumin was well tolerated by all the patients. The proportion of responders as measured by the HAM-D17 scale was higher in the combination group (77.8%) than in fluoxetine [Prozac] (64.7%) and the curcumin (62.5%) groups; however, these data were not statistically significant (P?=?0.58). Interestingly, the mean change in HAM-D17 score at the end of six weeks was comparable in all three groups (P?=?0.77). This study provides first clinical evidence that curcumin may be used as an effective and safe modality for treatment in patients with MDD without concurrent suicidal ideation or other psychotic disorders.”

While reading the researchers conclusions indicates one treatment (turmeric) is equally effective as Prozac, it doesn’t account for the negative effects of Prozac, which boost turmeric’s value considerably. Prozac is known to cause “suicidal ideation or other psychotic disorders,” frightening side effects that are clearly absent in turmeric use.

In addition to fighting depression, the bright yellow root commonly used in Indian cooking known as turmeric has been found to have numerous health benefits. In addition to this enlightening research on its efficacy in depression treatment, we know it also has value in the treatment of inflammatory conditions, diabetes, and even cancer. If that isn’t enough, it’s also been shown effective in aiding in weight loss and cutting heart disease risk. Plus, it tastes amazing.

Anti-depressant medications are some of the biggest of Big Pharma’s many big money-makers. Equipped with knowledge like the findings of this most recent study, consumers have the potential to undermine their goal of drugging America and the world.

SEROTONIN, SPIRITUALITY AND SORCERY

Christus

SEROTONIN, SPIRITUALITY AND SORCERY

by Ann Blake Tracy, Executive Director, International Coalition for Drug Awareness

March, 2008

As John received revelation upon revelation sitting exiled upon the Isle of Patmos he issued a very strong warning to us in our day. He told us that our entire world would be deceived (lied to) through the sorceries that would come out of Babylon. (Rev. 18:23-24) He went on to say that the end result of this deception would be the demise of “Prophets, Saints and all good men”. In other words no one would be spared in this great deception by these sorceries. Remember that we were told that even the very elect would be deceived.

So what is this sorcery of which John warns?

The Greek translation of sorcery is “Pharmakia” which means “medicine from a pharmacy.” WHAT?! Does that mean the drugs we find in those pharmacies on nearly every street corner now? Is it talking about those same drugs with ads that run all day long on our TVs and in magazines that we see everywhere we look?! Is it any wonder then that these prescription drugs are now being reported as the biggest drug problem in America today? Is it any wonder that the whole world has been deceived about these drugs?

Properly Prescribed Prescription Drugs = Third Leading Cause of Death in America

According to a 1995 study done by concerned pharmacists, prescription drugs, taken “as prescribed” rather than abused, are the third leading cause of death in this country, killing as many Americans every week as we lost at 9/11. The death toll of another 9/11 every week in this country! In light of this we need to ask who the real terrorists are when we are in a war over one week’s worth of these deaths while all the others go unnoticed, slaughtered and buried right under our noses. Is it any wonder the scriptures speak so sternly of sorcerers and sorcery?

January 17, 2008 we read in the New England Journal of Medicine that almost half of the studies done on one of America’s most popular group of drugs, antidepressants, were negative, yet when any of those negative studies were reported to the public the results were presented as positive. They also said the studies indicated that there was little evidence these drugs which bring in nearly $200 Million per day were more effective than placebo in treating depression.

Deception?

Deadly deception!

How deadly?

The most popular of these antidepressants, Effexor, now has “homicidal ideation” listed as a side effect. Homicidal ideation is not just killing someone, but it is having constant ruminating thoughts of killing and how to kill. To see the results of just this one deception with antidepressants go to www.ssristories.drugawareness.org where you will find a very long list of school shootings, loving mothers and fathers who have killed their children, children who have killed their parents, suicides, murder/suicides, female school teachers who have seduced male students, even well respected ministers who have raped children, previously “straight” individuals who have become “gay” – even to the point of having sex change surgery, extreme out of character behavior, including violence, wild spending sprees, embezzlement, sexual promiscuity, exhibitionism, gambling, etc. – all side effects of antidepressants.

Then a week later the FDA announced that they have been investigating many various types of medications for the potential of causing suicide. After learning that antidepressants increase suicidal potential by 2-3 times suddenly the FDA officials realized that multiple classes of medicines might cause dangerous psychiatric problems including suicide. Medicines to treat acne, hypertension, high cholesterol, swelling, heartburn, pain, bacterial infections and insomnia can all cause psychiatric problems, effects that were discovered in most cases after the drugs were approved and used in millions of patients.

RBD, Deadly Sleep Disorder Known to Produce Both Homicide and Suicide

Now, how could these medications produce such things? Simple. Antidepressants create a sleep disorder in which the patient acts out nightmares. It is called a REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD) and 86% of those being diagnosed with the disorder are taking antidepressants. Acting out one’s worst nightmare – what a perfect way to produce out-of-character behavior that could destroy all a person has worked to achieve in character building throughout life!

Even worse than understanding the potential of these drugs to produce RBD, is to know that in the past RBD was known mainly as a drug withdrawal state. So the question of great concern at this point should be: “If antidepressants are being found to be in current use in 86% of the cases just how high will that percentage go in the withdrawal state from these drugs?!”

Dangerous Rapid Withdrawal Produces RBD

As people begin to see how they have been lied to about the safety and effectiveness of these drugs and attempt to come off the drugs, what will the end result be? Knowing what I know about these drugs and the withdrawal from these drugs I can tell you that I for one DO NOT want to witness what we will see! If there has ever been a situation in the history of this world where we have so desperately needed to adhere to the command to be our “brother’s keeper” this is it! In doing so even if you are not the one taking the drug, the life you save may be your own or that of a loved one. Why? Because when someone goes psychotic in the withdrawal they can do anything. (For information on safe withdrawal go to www.drugawareness.org)

Kim Crespi near Charlotte, NC learned of antidepressant withdrawal all too painfully on January 20, 2006 when her husband David, a good strong Christian and wonderful husband and father, who was also a vice president of the bank, stabbed their twin four year old daughters to death.

David was in abrupt withdrawal from Paxil and had just started taking Prozac. He and Kim were not aware that the FDA had just warned the year before that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant, whether going up or down (he had just done both), can produce suicide, hostility, or psychosis – generally a manic psychosis leading to a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. Is it any wonder that the diagnosis of Bipolar has increased by 4000% over a recent 10 year period when it was basically unheard of before SSRI antidepressants?

Why us? Where Did We Go Wrong?

But why is this happening to us? Where did we go wrong?

For the answer we need to turn to Isaiah and read Isaiah 28:8 where, he, speaking of our day, says that we will rise up each day to get drunk (but he had already made it clear that this drunkenness would not be from wine or strong drink).

What would produce that drunken state then? Well when do people generally take their medications? First thing in the morning? These are mind altering medications. And what do the package inserts list as side effects? That is right – all the same effects one could expect from alcohol, but much stronger.

Tables Full of Vomit – Depleted of Nutrients

Isaiah then goes on to tell us why people would suffer the feelings of needing drugs. He says that our tables are “full of vomit” and there is nothing clean there.

Well, what is vomit? Vomit is food that either has already had the nutrients extracted or food that cannot be used by the body and is expelled because of that. And unclean? Look at the chemicals that have saturated our food supply.

So if our tables are full of vomit – food that has been depleted of nutrients or food that cannot be utilized where does that leave us? We are nutrient depleted.

Nutrient Depletion Leads to Use of Stimulants

And where does nutrient depletion lead us? It leads us to stimulants of any kind in order to force our bodies and brains to perform since they do not have the fuel or building blocks from nutrients to perform.

Perhaps the most obvious segment of society in which to see this is that which is most transparent due to the exposure they get – Hollywood. Show business is a very high profile and highly demanding profession. If you watch the lives of those in the business you generally see only two groups: health nuts or drug users. They either reach for nutrients to supply the building blocks they need to build energy levels to cope or they use drugs to force their bodies/brains to keep up the fast pace. It is simple to see which of those choices coincides with the Savior’s teachings.

Serotonin Connection to Spirituality

One extremely critical point for all Christians to understand is the serotonin connection to spirituality. These drugs work by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin. But 50% of the serotonin is metabolized by the pineal gland.

What is the pineal gland? It is the master gland of the body known as the “seat of the soul” or our connection to higher, spiritual thoughts. In Eastern religions it is known as the Third Eye and is located right in the center of the brain.

The question we need to ask is that if the Pineal gland is overloaded with large amounts of serotonin produced by these drugs, does it interfere with that spiritual connection?

According to patients using these drugs it does. They continually report that they can no longer feel God. One perfect example that comes to mind is that of Elizabeth Bush, the 14 year old girl who shot her best friend at the private Catholic school they attended.

Elizabeth’s hero in life was Mother Theresa. Elizabeth planned to devote her life to God and become a nun. So how did she go from that point to a charge of attempted murder almost overnight?

I called her attorney when this happened and told him what happened was likely the result of the use of one of these antidepressants. He did not show much interest, but said he would check. Then the following week Elizabeth was interviewed on 20/20 where she made the statement that she could “no longer feel God anymore.”

Immediately I called her attorney back and told him I no longer had any question about whether or not his client had been on an antidepressant nor any question about its contribution to causing this tragedy. With that new evidence about her inability to feel God anymore, in my mind, I knew.

He asked me to hold for a minute and when he returned he said rustling papers, “Paxil. Is Paxil one of those drugs?”

So, as dangerous and life-threatening as these drugs can be, even worse is the possibility that we can be severed from the spiritual by these drugs. Not only can they produce physical death, but also spiritual death.

Once Again I Ask … Where Did We Go Wrong?

Clearly we have underestimated Satan and his potential to pull us into his web of deceit and debauchery. Just because he is evil, does not mean he is stupid. He has much knowledge, far more than we do. Not more power than we do, because we do have the strength to overcome all with the help of the Savior. But we must be constantly aware of his cunning craftiness when it comes to his power to deceive. This awful situation in which we now find ourselves is a call for humility and faith and a reminder to always turn to the Savior in ALL things rather than trusting in the arm of flesh.

Antidepressant Cases of Kidnap, Rape, Murder, and Canabalism of Adults and Children

Geoffrey Portway

Geoffrey Portway

Man Pleads Guilty to Plan to Kidnap, Rape, Then Kill & Eat Children

This case is a tough one to even read about, but these cases are real and have been happening since the introduction of Prozac to the market and cannot be ignored. If you look at the picture above you will see the “Prozac Eyes” I have spoken of before. Although I will need to do some investigating to find a mention of the drugs – which you need to know I have not yet done, but I do want to discuss these types of cases where we do know which antidepressant was involved so you become aware to watch for this.

Geoffrey Portway plead guilty to distributing child pornography and planning to kidnap a child. It has also been revealed that he planned to rape, kill and eat children. Portway is a citizen of the UK, but was living in Worcester, Massachusetts at the time of his arrest. The arrest came after a two-year federal investigation into pedophile rings.

In a search of his home officers found a torture dungeon in the basement which contained handcuffs, knives, bondage tools, castration devices, two freezers, a cage, and a child-sized coffin. The cage and coffin had restraints and locks.

Update on case above:

Sweeney said Portway had a “troubled life” after realizing at a young age that he was gay. Feeling as though his father and his peers didn’t accept that, he began to retreat into a fantasy world, Sweeney said….Sweeney said Portway had a history of mental health problems, dating back to when he was in middle school. [Translated that generally means he had been medicated starting at that point.] Portway expressed his own desire to be eaten as a young child, he said.

From an online chat Portway was found to have said: “”I want to eat … the two boys you will bring me,”…. “Perhaps not today, but it will happen. That is all I live for. … I am serious. It is the only thing that gets me up in the morning.”

Jeffrey Dahmer

Jeffrey Dahmer

As you look at the first case let me remind you that Jeffrey Dahmer was on Prozac. If you have forgotten who Jeffrey is Google him so you never forget one of the most infamous serial killers. Jeffrey was also gay and killed 17 young men. In a televised court hearing he stood before a judge and requested that when he died he wished for someone to examine his brain to discover what was wrong with it because he had no idea why he had killed young men, had sex with their corpses, butchered them, and ate them. When I heard his statement there was enough about what he said that was familiar enough that I knew it was a case I had to look into to see if an antidepressant was involved.

Yes, I did learn he was on Prozac. But add to the Prozac, as another contributing factor, his mother was on 23 pills daily for a seizure disorder while pregnant with him. Considering his exposure to mind altering drugs, even during the formation of his brain, I do not believe he had much of a chance to make it through life normally.

Kip Artz

Kevin Lloyd Artz (Kip)

In another case in 1999 in Jackson, MI, Kevin Lloyd Artz (Kip), while in abrupt withdrawal from Prozac, decapitated his wife, placed her head in a cardboard box on his neighbor’s back porch, dismembered the body and cooked it for two days at the family taco stand. Kip had developed a brain tumor while on Prozac and in order to do surgery to remove the tumor the doctors took him abruptly off Prozac  and then released him to go home only three days after the surgery.  This happened a only a day or two after coming home from the hospital.

In 2005 the FDA issued a warning that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant, whether increasing or decreasing the dose, could produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. Tragically that warning came far too late for Kip Artz and his wife.

Kevin Underwood

Kevin Underwood

Not long before killing 10 year old Jamie Rose Bolin, Kevin Underwood, 26 wrote, “”I’ve been really bad again lately. I need to have the doctor write me a prescription for more Lexapro or something, and start taking that again….For example, my fantasies are just getting weirder and weirder. Dangerously weird. If people knew the kinds of things I think about anymore, I’d probably be locked away. No probably about it, I know I would be.”

Then he made a statement most who have been on an antidepressant can relate to: “Pretty much the only time I believe in God is when I want to blame Him for something. Or, when I’m really depressed, to cry and beg him to make me better, to make whatever is wrong in my brain go away, so that I can live like a normal person. That’s all I want in life, is to be able to live like a normal person.”

Six weeks after starting back on Lexapro is when Kevin suffocated his young neighbor Jamie, and then had sex with her corpse and also had plans to eat her body. He was arrested before he could do that. For additional information I recommend you read the interview I did on this case with the local newspaper.

My Interview on Coast to Coast June of 2001

Then in the summer of 2001 I did a show with Ian Punnett on Coast to Coast AM radio. The show initially started discussing the Yates family tragedy in Texas that had just occurred with Andrea drowning their five small children while she was under the influence of two antidepressants, Effexor and Remeron, both at maximum dose and both with drastic changes in dose just a day before the killings. During the show we somehow got on the subject of what sexual side effects are produced by antidepressants and discussed nymphomania briefly.

After that show someone began posting on the internet that they wanted me dead for what I was saying about the dangers of antidepressants. The reason for this he stated was that if it were not for Prozac he would never have known that God wanted him to have sex with children! He then stated that he had a friend who also “loved” little children and Paxil really helped him to realize that. He then went on to encourage all those who thought they “loved” little children to run right out and get a prescription for one of these antidepressants.

I think he must have been arrested after he faxed one of those statements to a business in Wisconsin and the police there called me about it because there were no more reports after that. Anyway you need to be aware that there is research available that links elevated serotonin levels to pedophilia as well as the violence. In fact no one needs to look past the prescription bottle for an antidepressant to learn where all of these female teacher molestations of male students are coming from!

The Physicians Desk Reference states that antidepressants can cause mania, psychosis, abnormal thinking, paranoia, hostility, aggression, agitation, confusion, amnesia, abnormal dreams, sleep disorders and a host of other adverse neuropsychiatric effects. Withdrawal, especially abrupt withdrawal, can also cause these same adverse effects.

St. John’s Wort and Acute Insomnia

“SJW must be as powerful a serotonergic as Prozac.”

I was so interested when I saw your web site, because from what everyone is saying, serotonin should be added to our drinking supply. Yet not enough is truly known about the brain.

Here is my story. It’s not entirely related to a drug per se, but to St. John’s Wort. I took SJW extract for three weeks in November, three droppers full a day, hoping to stave off winter depression before it hit. I then developed SEVERE insomnia that landed me in the ER twice, and then in the Psych unit. Had a sleep study to no avail. Since then I haven’t been able to sleep without ambien or halcion, despite having no prior history of insomnia. And they keep giving me more serotonergic drugs! I can’t see what it could be besides the St. John’s Wort! And I am only 22!

Zoloft was the worst drug they put me on, and gave me a dissociative panic attack for days on end. I don’t know exactly what my disorder is, but I had a deranged SPECT scan with massive overactivity. Serotonin is a double-edged sword. Watch out! All the research is definitely not in on this one. When I was younger and used to do LSD I had a lot of the same effects that SSRI’s give. They are not that dissimilar.

I would be highly interested if you ever run across anyone who had a severe disabling insomnia somehow induced by excess serotonin. I have talked to one person who had exactly the same thing happen, after a few Prozac, and it turned out they also had a carcinoid syndrome. Now, I know I don’t have this, but I don’t know how to explain any of what I have been through without mentioning the St. John’s Wort, because until that day I was 100% fine, and since then I have been unable to sleep and feeling restless. They had put me on tricyclic antidepressants and then several different SSRI’s which honestly haven’t improved things, and which I secretly discontinued. It’s not like I am depressed anyway, and in fact was in the Psych Hospital for sleep deprivation and released because they couldn’t find any evidence of a mental problem. They said maybe I was manic, but I wasn’t really hyper and had no response to Lithium or Depakote. Then they withdrew that diagnosis, only to say they didn’t know what was wrong with me.

But the thing about the SJW is this: I was on it for about three weeks of a black mood, when I honestly felt my mood lift… then I called everyone and said, “Gee this stuff really works!” Then within days the massive insomnia came. Now my mood is not so great, and I still can’t sleep. So I fail to see what induced it otherwise. All in all it’s weird. SJW must be as powerful a serotonergic as Prozac. I don’t think, if it’s so powerful, that it could really be free of side effects, even if it is natural. That is a rather grandiose claim, made by Howard (? Harold) Bloomfield, the doc who did all the SJW research. My three cents:)

Note from Ann Blake-Tracy:

Something to consider is that “Sleepless in California” had used a drug (LSD) in the past that produces high levels of serotonin. It may be that St. John’s Wort used by someone who has higher levels of serotonin already may find that they have adverse reactions to St. John’s Wort. This would also raise questions about those who have previously used an SSRI using St. John’s Wort. And to answer the question about higher levels of serotonin and insomnia, I refer you to the information in my book PROZAC: PANACEA OR PANDORA? which demonstrates that high levels of serotonin will lower the metabolism of serotonin and results in insomnia.

ZOLOFT: MULTIPLE LAWSUITS FILED FOR MULTIPLE BIRTH DEFECTS

ZOLOFT: MULTIPLE LAWSUITS FILED FOR MULTIPLE BIRTH DEFECTS

I do not believe it is clear to many people how serious these SSRI birth defect cases really are. This is to give you an idea of just how serious the birth defect cases are going against these drug companies…

Child was born with multiple birth defects…The complainant states that she took Zoloft throughout her pregnancy after it was prescribed by her treating physicians. She gave birth to a child with numerous congenital birth defects. The baby has been diagnosed with spina bifida, scoliosis, vater syndrome, tracheoesophageal fistula, and mitral valve regurgitation.

CASE #1

New Jersey Woman Files Zoloft Birth Defects Lawsuit

Perry Larkin | November 6th, 2012 | Posted in Zoloft Lawsuits

A New Jersey woman filed a new Zoloft litigation on October 17, 2012 seeking damages against manufacturer Pfizer, Inc. According to the filing the woman took the antidepressant Zoloft during her pregnancy and it caused multiple birth defects in her newborn son.

The case was filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Foley Square). She makes complaints of product liability, defective design, failure to warn, negligence and misrepresentation and seeks punitive and actual damages.

Zoloft accused of showing “willful disregard” to informing the public of risks

According to studies, Zoloft has long been linked to birth defects in newborns. In spite of FDA regulations that the new medical evidence requires Pfizer to update the warning label, the company has yet to do so.

The plaintiff’s attorney states that the company showed a willful disregard to informing the medical community and public of the risk of congenital birth defects due to Zoloft and this caused permanent harm to his client’s son. The label still fails to warn of the dangers and risks of congenital birth defects of Zoloft if it’s taken during pregnancy.

The plaintiff claims that her baby suffered from the following side effects of Zoloft: spina bifida, vater syndrome, clubfoot and other related defects.

Pfizer alleged to have known of side effects as early as 2007

The lawsuit alleges that Pfizer carelessly marketed the product and failed to provide sufficient warning as to the possible side effects to pregnant women. This case joins other designated cases for the pilot program of the district court, which aims to address complex civil cases.

The complaint says that in 2007, Pfizer knew that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like Zoloft doubled the risk of septal heart defects in babies who were born to mothers who took the medication. In studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine, it indicates that a four-fold increase in heart defects was connected to pregnant women using Zoloft during their first trimester. Other studies showed that using the medication while pregnant is also linked to a higher occurrence of heart malformation.

Child was born with multiple birth defects

The complainant states that she took Zoloft throughout her pregnancy after it was prescribed by her treating physicians. She gave birth to a child with numerous congenital birth defects. The baby has been diagnosed with spina bifida, scoliosis, vater syndrome, tracheoesophageal fistula, and mitral valve regurgitation.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for medical costs, as well as punitive and special damages.

Zoloft Caused Daughter’s Birth Defects, Tennessee Parents Claim in Lawsuit

Tracy Ray | October 24th, 2012 | Posted in Zoloft Lawsuits

In a lawsuit against Pfizer that was recently added to the Zoloft MDL, parents Michael and Shana Reid of Tennessee charge that their daughter was born with birth defects resulting from Zoloft. The Reids originally filed their lawsuit on June 8, 2012, in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia County, and the case was transferred to the Zoloft MDL in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, on August 16, 2012.

Baby needed surgery for life-threatening defects

According to the Reid’s lawsuit, Shana Reid was prescribed Zoloft by her physician during her pregnancy. She read the drug’s warning label, but did not see anything about birth defects, so she trusted that the antidepressant was safe to use while pregnant. Had she been warned about the risk of birth defects resulting from Zoloft, she would not have taken it during her pregnancy, she states in the lawsuit.

The Reid’s baby was born on October 14, 2004 with life-threatening congenital birth defects, the lawsuit states. As a result, the child has undergone corrective surgery and is likely to require further surgeries in future.

Plaintiffs accuse Pfizer of failure to warn mothers of Zoloft’s risks

The Reid’s lawsuit alleges that Pfizer was aware of the risk of side effects after taking Zoloft, but failed to adequately warn the public or the medical community. Their lawsuit charges that Pfizer’s marketing and advertising for Zoloft misled pregnant women and their doctors by giving inaccurate or misleading information about the danger Zoloft poses to a fetus when the drug is taken during pregnancy.

The lawsuit bring counts of failure to warn, design defect, fraud, negligence, gross negligence, negligent design, and breach of warranties. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation in excess of $75,000 in damages.

FDA issued warning about Zoloft birth defects

The FDA issued a warning in July 2006 stating that studies had shown that babies born to mothers who took Zoloft or other SSRI antidepressants during pregnancy were six times more likely to be born with PPHN than babies born to mothers who did not take antidepressants.
The following year, a 2007 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that women who took Zoloft during the first trimester had double the risk of giving birth to an infant with heart defects, compared to those who did not take antidepressants.

CASE #3

A Lawsuit Alleging Birth Defects From Zoloft is Filed in Pennsylvania
Perry Larkin | October 15th, 2012 | Posted in Zoloft Lawsuits
On September 10, 2012, a new lawsuit alleging birth defects from the use of Zoloft while pregnant was filed on behalf of ten plaintiffs by Zoloft attorneys. The case, Lentz et. Al. v. Pfizer Inc., was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and alleges that the antidepressant Zoloft (sertraline) is responsible for the birth defects in their children.

This lawsuit joins the increasing number of plaintiffs who are seeking compensation for the alleged problems as a result of the medication.

Pfizer is accused of knowing of the risk of birth defects and failing to alert the public

The lawsuit alleges that Pfizer knew of the possibility of birth defects from preclinical and published studies and took no action to properly study the drug and its aftereffects. In addition, they chose not to publish these studies due to the revelation of increased risks with the drug. The manufacturer is accused of concealing, suppressing the results, and failing to warn consumers of the potential dangers. Pfizer continues to deny these accusations.

Many side effects from Zoloft can affect the heart, the gastrointestinal system, and cranial malformations

The children were born between 1998 and 2011. A correlation was demonstrated in studies between 2007 and 2009 that indicated the increased risk of birth defects when women take Zoloft while pregnant, but the plaintiffs were unaware of these studies. The plaintiffs claim that if they’d known of the risks, they never would have taken the drug.
Some of the side effects resulting from Zoloft use described in the lawsuit include gastrointestinal problems such as anteriorly displaced anus and omphalocele; heart defects such as right-sided aortic arch, patent ductus arteriosus, cleft mitral valve, transposition of the great arteries, atrial and ventrical septal defects, anomalous pulmonary venous return, and aotrtic stenosis; and craniofacial malformations such as cleft lip and palate, and multiple-suture craniosynostosis.

Pfizer’s safety information posted online doesn’t mention birth defects
On their website, Pfizer has posted “Important Safety Information” about possible complications of Zoloft, but doesn’t specifically mention birth defects. The site does state that “[w]omen who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or who are breastfeeding should not take any antidepressant without consulting their doctor,” but to date doesn’t acknowledge any risk of birth defects, nor does it indicate that Zoloft poses any risk to a pregnancy that other antidepressants don’t also pose.

CASE #4

Zoloft Drugmaker Blamed for Child Death

Elise Kramer | October 11th, 2012 | Posted in Zoloft Lawsuits

A New York couple has filed a lawsuit against Zoloft drug maker Pfizer, claiming that the antidepressant Zoloft is responsible for the birth defects experienced by their deceased son. The lawsuit was filed on August 17, 2012, in the United States’ District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where the current Zoloft multidistrict litigation case is taking place. Jessica and Shawn Coon are claiming that Zoloft was responsible for the side effects experienced by their child, as Jessica took the medication during her pregnancy; they claim that they were not adequately informed of potential side effects associated with the medication at the time.

Negligence claimed by couple

The plaintiffs claim that the deceased minor, known as J.A.C., was born with congenital heart defects caused by birth defects after Zoloft use. He passed away just one month after he was born at the West Chester Medical Center in New York. They claim that because of Pfizer’s negligence and misrepresentation, Jessica Coon continued to take the SSRI drug Zoloft while she was pregnant with her child, which resulted in the birth defects he suffered and in his subsequent death.

The lawsuit claims that Pfizer and its subsidiaries, including Greenstone LLC, did not demonstrate reasonable care in the production, marketing, and distribution of their antidepressant, which caused a number of patients to suffer from birth defects as a result of the drug’s use by pregnant mothers. A number of studies have shown that Zoloft can be linked to an increased risk in birth defects, including PPHN and congenital heart disorders, which can be fatal in serious cases.

Numerous birth defects associated with antidepressant

The growing number of plaintiffs who have chosen to file a birth defects lawsuit related to Zoloft indicates the serious concern about birth defects related to the drug. Studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that infants born to women taking SSRI medications such as Zoloft were 50 percent more likely to develop heart defects and other serious heart problems.

WITHDRAWAL HELP CD TESTIMONIALS:

“Ann, I just wanted to let you know from the bottom of my heart how grateful I am God placed you in my life. I am now down to less than 2 mg on my Cymbalta and I have never felt better. I am finally getting my life back. I can feel again and colors have never been brighter. Thanks for all that you do!!” … Amber Weber

“Used your method of weaning off of SSRI’s and applied it to Ambien. Took 6 months but had been on 15 mg for years so what was another 6 months. I have been sleeping without it for 2 weeks and it is the first time I have been able to sleep drug free for 15 years. What a relief to be able to lay down and sleep when I need or want to. Ambien may be necessary for people at times but doctors giving a months worth of it at a time with unlimited refills is a prescription for disaster. It is so damn easy to become dependent on. Thanks for your council Ann.”… Mark Hill

“I’m so thankful for AnnTracy and all her work. Also for taking the time out to talk to me and educate everyone! She has been a blessing to me during this awful time of antidepressant hell!” … Antoinette Beck
