CNN: Teen in coma from severe brain injury recovers with alternatives

Grant Virgin (16), Given Up for Dead by Doctors

Luckily His Parents Did Not Give Up!

Thanks to my son for sharing this story and video from my most favorite of all medical investigative journalists, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, from CNN! One of the most open, honest and sincerely questioning interviews I ever did on the subject of antidepressants and children was done by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He has a very open mind and is clearly searching for truth in all areas to help others. Please see the video and story airing tonight and tomorrow on CNN with Dr. Gupta in the link below. DO NOT MISS THIS INSPIRING VIDEO AND NEWS REPORT! It is well worth reading and watching!!!

Do antidepressants and other psychiatric meds cause brain damage?

And if so, what do we do about it?

Because in May I testified before the Danish Parliament on the issue of brain damage being caused by the use of antidepressants, I believe anything to help us learn more about recovering from brain damage is critical. Anyone interested in these medications and how they affect themselves as patients or their loved ones on the medications should be hyper vigilant when it comes to this issue.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments

Hyperbaric oxygen is another absolutely incredible treatment for brain injury. If you go to our website and click the links on Dr. Paul Harch you can see before and after brain scans of those who have used hyperbaric oxygen. That link can be found in alternative treatment #7 at https://www.drugawareness.org/alternatives/

Essential Aromatherapy Oils

What did Princess Di use to ward off some of the adverse effects of her Prozac? She used essential aromatherapy oils. And this CNN story featuring a young man given up for dead after a tragic hit and run accident and slipping into a coma reminds me so much of my friend Connie Bertoldo’s son when she was told that IF he did recover he would only be a vegetable after his traumatic brain injury from a 4 wheeler flipping and landing on top of him.

When Connie called for help wanting to know what oils would help, I rushed to the hospital with all the Young Living oils I knew would help with brain injury. She continued to use the oils on her son as she sat with him rubbing them on his feet and brain stem area and also down his spine whenever she could. Only one, the combination of oils called Brain Power, she would apply to his thumb and press it against the roof of his mouth in order to apply it as close to the brain as possible. (Keep in mind that all oils are not okay to use internally. The Young Living Oils are therapeutic grade oils and we knew which ones to use internally and which ones could not be used that way.)

The doctors could not believe Connie’s son’s miraculous recovery. But like the parents in this CNN story she did not tell them all she was doing to help him in using alternatives. Although I think she did in the end.

I also remember little Lazarus (Lazzie), the little black Chi-weeny dog (Chihuahua/Dachshund) we got from my sister. He was only between six and eight weeks old when he ran under a rocking chair at exactly the wrong time. As he did the rockers came down on his tiny head crushing it. The injury was so bad they heard his head crack and blood was coming out of his mouth, etc. They too were told there was no hope for him and he should just be put to sleep or he would die from the brain injury soon anyway.

That is when my niece, Kindred, called sobbing and begging me to hurry and bring my oils to see if they could help him. When I got there he was still crying out in pain. So I immediately covered his little head with all the oils known to stop pain, bruising, and swelling to prevent any further brain damage from occuring – like Valor, Peppermint, Lavender, and Helichrysum and Frankincense. I also applied Brain Power to the roof of his little mouth with my pinky finger. His crying stopped quickly. I then took him hom with me and stayed up all night layering the oils over and over this way on his little head.

To everyone’s amazement he recovered rapidly and was just as normal as he could be the rest of his life and was so full of life and so much fun! My sister told me he was mine because he would never have lived had I not known what to do for him. So I named him the most fitting name I could think of, Lazarus, because it was as if he had come back to us from the dead. Our sweet little Lazzie, with all the joy he brought to us, was worth every bit of that effort and so much worth the effort I had expended in learning about the oils in order to know what to do to help him!

Merrill Osmond Recovers Using Aromatherapy – Learn More

What a shame people are not told that there are many alternatives, used freely in other countries, that are restricted in ours because the pharmaceutical giants want no competition because they know how well these alternatives work …. Check out this Pharma link to learn more about the oils that brought little Lazzie back to us and the same oils that helped Merrill Osmond (Yes one of the famous Osmond Brothers and brother to Donnie and Marie. His story is on our site also.), when I worked with him to be able to wean off his medications after 20+ years on them, you can go to the alternatives section of our website at https://www.drugawareness.org/alternatives/ And there you can listen to an NPR radio interview I and Kathy Farmer, an expert in the oils, did on the subject of antidepressant adverse effects and how the oils help with that.

Family says fish oil helped son recover from traumatic brain injury

http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/18/health/fish-oil-recovery/

(In reading this story everyone should keep in mind that the Omega 3 oil from flax seed works just as well as fish oil in making these changes in the brain. That was made very clear to us as when attending a worldwide conference at the National Institutes of Health in 2002. They explained that we only hear more about fish instead of flax because the fish industry has more money to fund the studies)

WITHDRAWAL WARNING: In sharing information on alternatives to antidepressants I always recommend that you also give reference to my CD on safe withdrawal, Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!, so that we do not have more people dropping off these drugs too quickly – a move which I have warned from the beginning can be even more dangerous than staying on the drugs!

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. These reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid! You can find the hour and a half long CD on safe and effective withdrawal helps here: http://store.drugawareness.org/
