Australian Husband/Father Blames Hospital for Wife/Mother’s Attempted Suicide & Attempted Murder of Three Week Old Baby

To make you aware of the fact that America is not the only place we have so many mothers on these medications killing, or attempting to kill, their children while under the influence of antidepressants here is a case brought to us from our New Zealand Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness, Tracy Lee who lost her own child due to antidepressant-induced suicide:

David Milton said he took his wife, Sucharitta, to Southland Hospital at 3am on Sunday because she was in “absolute agony”.

She had been “like a zombie” and in extreme pain with multiple stitches since the birth of their daughter.

But the hospital sent her home just three and a half hours later after undergoing several tests and being told she had post-natal depression and mastitis.

On Sunday night Sucharitta began passing out and Mr Milton rang their midwife, who had been visiting weekly, to tell her about Sucharitta’s symptoms.

Her husband said the doctor’s attitude was absolutely disgusting when the hospital sent her home telling her to contact her GP the following morning. But by Monday morning their home was a crime scene after his wife cut their three week old baby’s throat and her own wrists. She had cut her wrists so deeply she cut both tendons and ligaments.

Luckily the baby is doing much better, breathing on her own and smiling when she hears her father’s voice.

Of course it would seem to me they would have immediately prescribed an antidepressant as regular procedure for treatment of the diagnosed post partum depression. And that could have been the reason for both her beginning to pass out on Sunday evening and the murder/suicide attempt hours later.

WARNING: In sharing this information about adverse reactions to antidepressants I always recommend that you also give reference to my CD on safe withdrawal, Help! I Can’t Get Off My Antidepressant!, so that we do not have more people dropping off these drugs too quickly – a move which I have warned from the beginning can be even more dangerous than staying on the drugs!

The FDA also now warns that any abrupt change in dose of an antidepressant can produce suicide, hostility or psychosis. And these reactions can either come on very rapidly or even be delayed for months depending upon the adverse effects upon sleep patterns when the withdrawal is rapid!
