ANTIDEPRESSANT-INDUCED SUICIDE OF ROBIN WILLIAMS AKA MURDER & HOW PHARMA PROFITED

Today is the One Year Anniversary of Robin Williams’ Death

According to Newsweek the death of Robin Williams caused an unprecedented mark on suicide hotline which suicide prevention experts are still trying to make sense of.

“The impact has continued into this calendar year. In 2015, visits to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s web site have been up 60 percent. Local call lines have also seen an impact; the Crisis Services hotline in Buffalo, New York, for instance, says that it has seen a 15 percent increase in call volume during the first seven months of 2015 compared with the same period in 2014. Executive director Jessica C. Pirro notes Williams’s suicide and encouragement to seek help as a possible cause.

“At the time of the loss [of Williams], there was such an enormous spike in interest in the whole topic of suicide,” says Robert Gebbia, the CEO of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). “We saw increases at the time in calls to the crisis line, visits to the website.… Like most things, it certainly waned a bit. But I think there was a lasting bump in interest in our society by people around the country.”

And just how much money did Pharma pull in from that “lasting bump in interest” surrounding suicide and the hotlines set up by who?

Just WHO is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention?

You do not need to look very far to find out who is behind this organization. As you will recall I recently put out an article on how Senator Charles Grassley found in a Senate probe that NAMI, the National Alliance for Mental Illness, is funded 80% by Pharma.

Well at first glance this American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has a couple of very interesting fellows as directors on their Board. First of all there is Charles B. Nemeroff, M.D., Ph.D. now at the University of Miami after a Senate probe found that he had hidden millions in income from Pharma as the department chair in Psychiatry for Emory University. Which you can find information on in this older blog I put out on him: http://www.drugawareness.org/grassley-seeks-more-info-on-conflict-of-interest-policies-at-medical-schools-3/

Interestingly Dr. Nemeroff was also the lead featured speaker this year at the American Psychiatric Association convention.

Another noted director on their board is J. John Mann, M.D. from Columbia University Medical Center. John Mann is quoted extensively in my book on antidepressants, Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? Our Serotonin Nightmare!, because of his extensive research on serotonin which basically proves the serotonin hypothesis behind antidepressants to be completely backwards.

Andy Vickery who has been the lead attorney in fighting the majority of suicide cases nationwide against the makers of SSRI antidepressants referred to Dr. Mann at the 2006 FDA hearing as a “Pharma Whore” which becomes quite apparent when you read his early research on serotonin and then hear him speak about it when under oath in court or hear the opposite from him when he testifys to the FDA. Under oath he says when antidepressants work by impairing serotonin metabolism (which they all do) they will produce impulsive murder or suicide. When testifying to the FDA you will hear the exact opposite come out of his mouth about the safety of these drugs.

So How Much Did Pharma Make By Killing Robin Williams?

So just how much money did Pharma make by Robin Williiam’s dying on the SNRI antidepressant Remeron – one of the two SNRI antidepressants Andrea Yates was taking when she drowned her five children? Obviously Robin’s death brought in a whole lot of new customers who are now addicted to these very highly addictive antidepressant medications. And how many of them have now already lost their lives in the way Robin lost his?

This will make money for Phama for many years to come. Robins’ death, just as all the other suicides and murder-suicides induced by their antidepressants, was not a sad and tragic thing for them as it was for the rest of us who know well how he really died and how all the rest of them died. I am sure they still smile all the way to the bank! Profiting from murder is what this is….beyond blood money! How long will it go on before the world wakes up to this biggest lie of all that surrounds us?

ANTIDEPRESSANTS: HOW HIGH A TOLL HAVE THEY TAKEN?

Don Grady, of My Three Son’s

Three years ago yesterday the world lost someone many of us women fell in love with as kids. He was someone I was suppose to go to my college prom with in the early 70’s, a wonderful young man that most people only saw on television as Robbie, the oldest son in the TV series My Three Sons.

While living in Southern California I became close friends with Don’s agents, an older couple, who decided to play matchmakers and set us up for the prom. As it ended up it never happened because he had to cancel at the last minute due to an unexpected opportunity for a gig in France. After being elected the “Most Bashful” in my senior year in high school, I was so relieved something had come up for Don because honestly had he actually shown up at my door I would have fainted dead away! 🙂 🙂

But Don was a super nice guy, very much the type of person he played in the role of Robbie on My Three Son’s. You likely would have remembered him better in this picture:

Don Grady my 3 sons

Cast of My Three Sons

On June 28, 2012, Don died from cancer in a town I grew to love like my home, Thousand Oaks, CA.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/29/arts/television/don-grady-robbie-on-my-three-sons-dies-at-68.html

So why am I telling you about Don on the third anniversary of his death? It is because I have people ask me all the time how many people I know who have died on antidepressants or killed someone on antidepressants or committed suicide on antidepressants. So I have decided to answer that question here.

Maria-Malakoff

Just two weeks ago I sent out the testimony of a friend of mine who is a pharmacist who attempted suicide on Prozac and then her husband, also a pharmacist and also on Prozac, walked into their TV room and shot himself in front of Maria and their four children while they were watching TV. Maria made the statement that the day would come that every family in America would be affected by these deadly drugs that she refused to call “medications.”

So, as I think through all those I know, I am going to list just a few. Right after I sent out Maria’s story I sent you my friend Le Anne Westover, Del Shannon’s widow’s tragic story of her husband’s suicide. Then Tucker Moneymaker’s story of his wife killing their two sons and shooting herself, and I have many more to send to you as well because my list is VERY, VERY LONG.

Now did Don Grady die on an antidepressant? No. But his family was affected too as he did lose his sister to these drugs about a decade before his own death. That was his sister Lani O’Grady who died of an overdose of Prozac and the pain killer Vicodin. If her name sounds familiar it is because she starred for years as the older sister in the hit TV series Eight is Enough. I only wish I had known sooner that this was going on in Don’s sister’s life so as to have been a help to them in learning the truth behind what was causing this nightmare in their lives so we could have prevented her death.

Lani O'Grady

Lani O’Grady

The documentation of Lani’s death on high doses of Prozac and Vicodin can be found in our database of cases at www.ssristories.NET at the following link:

ssristories.net/archive/showdd43.html?item=2675

From other articles we learn more of the antidepressant hell Lani and her family lived through including her sudden and unexpected death at such a young age: “In the years after the show O’Grady bounced in and out of rehab. She was clean at her death, says her mother, taking only an antidepressant and an antiseizure medication (an earlier antidepressant had left her with recurring seizures).”

And this article in People Magazine quotes her mother about the struggle she had with addiction to various prescription medications yet how happy she was before her death and looking forward to the future: http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20135461,00.html

October 15, 2001 Vol. 56 No. 16 Family Tragedy
In the Years After Eight Is Enough, Actress Lani O’Grady Struggled to Overcome the Damage Done by Addiction

Hobbled by addictions in the years since she was a member of one of TV’s happiest families, Eight Is Enough’s Lani O’Grady was ready for some real-world domestic bliss. On Sept. 24 she baked muffins in her Valencia, Calif., trailer home and told her mother she was thinking of getting a puppy. “She said, ‘Oh, I love my little home,’ ” says Mary Grady, a children’s talent agent. “It was the most serene tone I’d heard in her in years.”

Everyone needs to stop and think just how many they know personally who have lost their lives to these drugs because I think everyone would be shocked to come to the realization of how very high the toll has been. As I have said my list is much too long to ever get through as you will find many of them in our database of cases posted here: www.ssristories.NET  I urge you not to allow these victims of antidepressants to remain just numbers! Go through these stories and learn about them to see how much the world has lost by these drugs robbing us all of them and their talents they did not get to stay long enough to share with us. Remember this list is only the tip of this iceberg. Hopefully this will help you to see what Maria Malakoff meant when she said every family in this country would be affected personally by these deadly drugs. If you saw my personal list you would understand why I refer to this as a holocaust.

So to my friend Don today I would say, “Please rest in peace, we miss you, and let Lani know that her battle for truth about her death will continue to be fought until the world knows what cut her life and the lives of Del Shannon, Maria’s husband, Gary, Tucker’s sons, David and William, and oh so many others far too short!”

Paxil-Induced Murder Suicide Inspired Jennifer Anniston’s Movie “Cake”

Tim Tobin family

Tim, Deb and Alyssa Tobin

Well I don’t normally watch movies but will go watch this one since I worked on the Tobin vs Glaxo case for three plus years. Almost three of those years were spent waiting on the high profile attorney Jerry Spence to see if he would handle the case until he concluded he did not know enough about antidepressants to do the case justice. At that point Andy Vickery, who has been the lead attorney handling so many of these cases for many years, was brought in on the case. In the end the jury ruled that the two Paxil pills taken by Donald Schell before the tragedy was the main cause of Tim Tobin’s father-in-law, Donald Schell, killing his wife, daughter and infant grand-daughter before killing himself.

I actually learned about this case while testifying in the case of a woman in Western Wyoming who had shot her husband while he slept. She too was on Paxil and had no recall of what had happened but knew she must have been the one to shoot her husband as she had what she described as “a smoking gun” in her hand. So this women, described by all as the “nicest woman in town,” walked over to the Sheriff’s office and turned herself in.

Phil - Brynn Hartman

Comedian Phil Hartman and his wife, Brynn

The following morning after driving back from Wyoming the night before I woke up to the reports of the murder suicide of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn. I was shocked that the case was identical to both of these Wyoming cases from the day before. The following evening I spoke with Brynn Hartman’s family and told them why I suspected the drugs and not to stop looking until they found one of these antidepressants. Because of what I had heard about the case I felt strongly antidepressants were behind it. I was not about to have the Hartman’s children go through life without either of their parents and no answers as to why their mother had done this.

All of these cases were much too similar. Although in the Hartman case the antidepressants involved were Zoloft and Tramadol, instead of Paxil. The Hartman children’s wrongful death case did not go to court as this one did but was settled by Pfizer the manufacturer of Zoloft.

Antidepressant-Induced REM Sleep Disorder (RBD)

Although I agree that pain killers are a very serious problem I am disappointed that the drug involved in the Tobin tragedy was not addressed in this movie instead – the antidepressant Paxil. Antidepressants produce a sleep disorder called REM Sleep Disorder (RBD) where the patient has no paralysis during sleep and can act out the nightmares they are having. It has long been known to include both murder and suicide. Latest figures show that 86% of those being diagnosed with this deadly sleep disorder are taking an antidepressant. Even more frightening is that RBD has long been known as a drug withdrawal state so we could expect even more cases if the patient or their doctor does not know enough to understand that patients should wean extremely slowly off these medications to avoid the withdrawal.

Cake the Movie

Here is an introduction to the movie and background: EXCLUSIVE: The true story behind Jennifer Aniston’s Cake – how movie’s scriptwriter was inspired by the brutal murder of his brother’s wife, baby daughter and mother-in-law

Cake has been acclaimed for Aniston’s portrayal of suicidal mom hooked on prescription drugs in aftermath of car crash that killed her child

Daily Mail Online can reveal movie was written by Patrick Tobin after his brother’s young family was slaughtered by a relative

Deb Tobin and her nine-month-old daughter Alyssa were shot dead by her father, along with her mom Rita Schell, by Don Schell, her father

Tim Tobin, Patrick’s brother, found the horrific scene at father-in-law’s home in Gillette, Wyoming on Valentine’s Day, 1998

Schell was taking anti-depressant Paxil and Tim Tobin sued maker, winning $6.4m compensation after it was named ‘proximate cause’ of killings

Patrick Tobin then quit Hollywood to look after his suicidal brother and eventually wrote Cake as a result of experience

Jennifer Aniston’s career-defining performance in hit movie Cake has earned her a flurry of plaudits and award nominations.

The Friends star gives a gritty portrayal of suicidal mom Claire Bennett who is hooked on prescription drugs while struggling to live with debilitating injuries she endured in a car crash that killed her child.

When it was missed from the Oscars shortlist, many critics said it was a miss and should have been included.

But few watching the heart-wrenching Hollywood film will be aware that the screen drama is in fact inspired by a tragic and brutal real life story.

Daily Mail Online has learned that screenwriter Patrick Tobin penned the powerful movie following a devastating family tragedy that saw four of his brother’s family slaughtered.

1991 FDA Antidepressant Hearing: Le Anne Westover Testifies of Husband Del Shannon’s Prozac Suicide

Le Anne Westover - Dell Shannon

Le Anne Westover & Husband, Charles (Del Shannon)

Everyone needs to hear these testimonies presented to the FDA in September of 1991 on the subject antidepressants causing suicide and violence. The FDA chose to ignore these testimonies that day leading to many more deaths since. My dear friend featured here, Le Anne Westover, lost her husband Charles, also known as the popular singer Del Shannon, in only two weeks to a violent Prozac-induced suicide. His senseless death, along with so many others documented both in these testimonies and this database www.ssristories.NET should NEVER be forgotten!!!

Please listen to Le Anne’s testimony here:
https://youtu.be/FiF4Pd6rat8

The following is a transcript of LeAnne’s testimony to the FDA that day:

DR. CASEY: Next is Mrs. Del Shannon, please.

MS. SHANNON: Lee Ann Westover.

DR. CASEY: Excuse me, are you Mrs. Del Shannon?

MS. SHANNON: I am Mrs. Del Shannon, yes. I am the widow Del Shannon. My husband 1990. On the evening of of Charles Westover, also known as was given Prozac on January 24 of February 8, 1990, he killed himself. I am told his death was instantaneous, but I believe his death actually began the moment he took his first dose of Prozac.

Before Prozac, my husband was very involved with people, our family, and his work. He was very much in charge of his business. But within days after he started taking Prozac I noticed a personality change in him. He showed signs of restlessness, akathisia, agitation, pacing, and his appearance was very drawn. He developed severe insomnia, extreme fatigue, chills, racing heart, dry mouth, and upset stomach. His hands would shake uncontrollably at times.

This really alarmed him. I would ask him what was wrong and his only reply was, “I don’t know, I don’t know.”

At this time my husband’s career was better than ever. He was just finishing a new album and was at his utmost creative peak. Many good things were happening in his life.

On January 24, he saw a doctor for counseling, as changes were happening rapidly. Due to these changes, he went to a doctor because he was experiencing some stress. He was given Prozac. Two weeks later I found him dead in our home. He told me, when he came home from the doctor, that he was given a new drug, “It’s not even a drug, it’s a chemical, it’s very safe. It’s supposed to help me over the hump I’m in.” The drug was Prozac.

Charles was very much against suicide. He counseled people against suicide. To him, and I quote “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.” I want you to know suicide was totally out of character for my husband.

There was no note. The day he died he had made appointments for afternoon and evening. He had booked future and no kiss goodbye.

On February 8, my daughter and I were going to the market. He asked for some vitamins and other items that he wanted from the market. He kissed me, smiled, and we said, “See you later.” There was absolutely no warning of suicide or anything violent.

I know with absolute certainty that if Charles had any idea of the side effects of Prozac he would never have taken it. This drug is most assuredly responsible for any torment or suffering and the eventual suicide of my husband. I want people to be aware of what can happen when you take this drug Prozac.

Thank you.

DR CASEY : Thank you.

Rest in Peace Del…you are not forgotten!

Antidepressant-Induced Psychosis & Everything Else They Cause

Zoloft and heart disease

Understanding Antidepressant-Induced Psychosis

And Everything Else They Cause

I have been going back through my book Prozac: Panacea OR Pandora? – Our Serotonin Nightmare! (Keep in mind that the only reason Prozac is the only antidepressant mentioned in the title is because it is the mother drug to all of the other SSRI and SNRI clones to follow it) to gather information for a court case and thought I would share something I ran across. It seems that so many who know enough to be against these drugs do not seem to know how simple it is to prove the deadly potential of antidepressants in producing psychotic breaks or so many other adverse effects. Hopefully just this one quote (although there is MUCH more) is enough to help everyone understand how similar in action these serotonergic drugs are to drugs we have seen in the past that are now illegal although once thought to be “safe and effective” also will help explain the psychosis producing effects.

“Tonge and Leonard (1969) compared phencyclidine [PCP], Ditran, mescaline and LSD and their effect upon 5 – HT (serotonin) and 5 – HIAA (serotonin turnover). All four drugs increased brain 5-HT (serotonin) and decreased 5-HIAA [serotonin turnover/metabolism] over a three hour period. As we pointed out before inhibition of 5HT (serotonin) is known to result in a decrease of 5HIAA (serotonin turnover) while it increases extraneuronal content of the 5HT (serotonin) (Buus, et al. 1975; Nabeshima, et al. 1983). Kenneth M. Johnson in 1978, thirty years after our official introduction to PCP, recommended that, “…Because of the suggestive nature of the foregoing studies with PCP and the proposed role of 5-HT [serotonin] in emotional and psychotic behavior, it is felt that a detailed biochemical study of the effects of PCP on serotonergic function is warranted…” (PCP PHENCYCLIDINE ABUSE: AN APPRAISAL , p. 46).

“This information on elevated serotonin levels and their connection to schizophrenia would imply that Prozac and the remaining SSRIs, along with any of the drugs which raise serotonin levels should all be classed as psychotomimetic drugs, over a period of use they are chemically inducing a psychosis thus mimicking schizophrenia. As early as 1986 Prozac’s potential to induce psychosis emerged when an FDA Safety Reviewer uncovered that Lilly had withheld information of psychotic episodes in 52 patients during Prozac’s clinical trials.

2004 February FDA Testimony of Jamie Tierney Given Effexor for Migraine Headaches at Age 14

jamie.jpg

Jamie Tierney

A neurologist, who certainly should have known better, gave the SNRI antidepressant, Effexor, to 14 year old Jamie Tierney. Let her share with you what horrors she suffered as a result. Luckily her parents knew what they were seeing in Jamie’s behavior was not her and continued to search for answers. I still remember her mother’s first call to me and the hours upon hours spent in helping Jamie to be able to withdraw safely off of this deadly drug that almost took her life.

Listen to her February 2004 testimony before the FDA here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhec-FDVEW4

And so common for so many young people who are targeted with these drugs as they enter college Jamie was offered the antidepressant Wellbutrin with the sales pitch that this antidepressant does not work like the other antidepressants (BS!) and it is safe so there is no need to worry. Jamie suffered the same nightmare all over again. Thankfully she survived that and has learned to avoid any of these drugs for the rest of her life!

Mark and Cheryl Miller Testify Before the FDA on the Zoloft-Induced Suicide of Their Only Son, Matt, 13

Matt Miller

Matt Miller, 13

I hope you have all had the opportunity to visit our website’s video section at www.drugawareness.org to view testimonies from all of us to the FDA in the 1991, 2004 and 2006 hearings on antidepressant-induced suicide. You will see clearly that the FDA should have taken action on the SSRI antidepressants back in 1991 when Prozac was the only SSRI on the market – long before all of the other Prozac clones appeared on the market to result in the killing so many more innocent victims.

Below is a link to the testimony of Mark and Cheryl Miller in February of 2004 about the Zoloft-induced suicide of their 13 year old son, Matt, after only 7 pills. You will also find these testimonies listed in our database of Antidepressant Nightmares at www.ssristories.NET Mark originally set up our website in 1997 and served as our webmaster for the next decade.

PROZAC: Remembering Del Shannon – Taken From Us 25 Years Ago Today

del shannon5

Del Shannon saving lives through his tragic death – exactly the way he would want it. Few knew how compassionate a person and spiritual a person Del was. He would want the world to learn from what happened to him to cut his life so short. He would want the world to know that suicide was NOT something he chose, He would want the dangers of antidepressants broadcast loud and clear!

Del was taken from us 25 years ago today by the first Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor on the market in the US, Eli Lilly’s Prozac. He shot himself just over two weeks after starting on the drug his doctor clearly lied to him about in order to persuade him to take it. To read the full story and hear his hit song of all time, Runaway, please see the blog post I put out just a few months ago by clicking the link below ….

If you have not seen Brian’s site I highly encourage you to do so as he is doing what we are doing in gathering cases for the UK and documenting them there, mainly from inquests.

Apparently Brian has been a lifelong fan of Del Shannon and his work See his beautiful tribute to Del by clicking the link below……

ANTIDEPRESSANTS??? Whitney Houston’s daughter found unresponsive in tub

Whitney Houston and daughter

Whitney Houston and Daughter Bobbi Brown

This is a perfect example as to why it is so important to get this info on antidepressants out quickly to families who have lost loved ones….hopefully you noted that there were MANY prescription drug bottles found at the death scene when Whitney died.

But if the daughter was then given an antidepressant to cope with the death of her mother and antidepressants cause you to act out your worst nightmare would you not expect that worst nightmare to be the exact acting out of her mother’s death in a copy cat scenario? This could easily be what happened here. Luckily she is still alive.

So many others were not so lucky though…Check out our database of thousands more tragic antidepressants induced cases: www.ssristories.NET

ANTIDEPRESSANT: Law Professor Being Treated for Depression Shoots Self

Professor Cheryl Hanna

Professor Cheryl Hanna

According to a statement by her husband she was taking medication and the severe depression was a “recent” battle.

“It has been a trying two months with my wife’s relatively recent battle with severe depression”

And why was it a recent battle? Had she recently been given an antidepressant? And for what? Exhaustion? Stress? Insomnia? Or anything else anyone could think of since doctors seem to think these drugs are the answer for everything that ails mankind.

Tragically so many families have been led to believe that the depression CREATED by the antidepressant itself (yes you create depression, suicide, mania, violent crime, etc. when you impair someone’s ability to metabolize serotonin – the exact mode of action of a serotonin reuptake inhibitor)

Read my September 2004 testimony to see more about what science says should be the expected results of inhibiting serotonin reuptake: http://www.drugawareness.org/fda-testimony/dr-ann-blake-tracys-september-13-2004-to-the-fda
